The staff at this hotel were very friendly and welcoming. They lent us umbrellas for us to use while we stayed there because of the weather conditions. They gave us information on the best places to eat and made us feel at home. While the hotel is not a luxury resort, I was pleasantly surprised how big the hotel room was. It had a separate kitchen and couch and the outside patio was very large with furniture and a hammock. Will definitely stay again if we make it back to Costa Rica.

Exactly as described and close to the beach / scuba diving shops.

Had a very Costa Rican feel. Let us check in early. Not a slick high end place but fine for the price.

The only downside was when I booked through Expedia, I paid a deposit. When I checked in, I was told I still owe the amount of the deposit and wanted to see my credit card statement to prove I paid it. I was too tired to argue but was very upset that I double paid the deposit. Although a bar is advertised, it is closed down. Good: friendly staff hotel is being renovated, getting a facelift it could use. Pool was very inviting. I would stay there again, but I would book through their personal website.

Fun place to stay, it was nice to sit by the pool and chat with other guests.The breakfast was good too.

We enjoyed our stay at Toro Blanco. The hotel and surrounding areas were quiet at this time of year, as we lean into off season. The included breakfast is very limited as there is no restaurant on site. Kitchenette in room was a nice touch!

We stayed 6 nights and it was just what we read about in previous reviews. Walkable to everything which we wanted. Breakfast was excellent. Rice/beans, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, toast, fruit, pastries, coffee, juice etc. the balcony and pool were wonderful. It’s not the Hilton but it’s perfect

It was a great location! I could walk to beach, restaurants, etc…the breakfast each day was nice and loved being able to dip in the pool. It was hot and very humid!

We had a great time sat by the pool and met our fellow guests.

One block off the busy street and one block off the beach. Lots of restaurants and souvenir shopping nearby. Great happy hour deals at the bars (11-7 p). Beach is so-so. Short drive from airport. Resort is well run. Very friendly staff who are always cleaning. No daily housekeeping. Nice pool. They supply beach towels, beach mats, umbrellas, and games. Would def stay here again.

Very nice. A bit pricy for what you get because they convert everything from US currency. Pool area a bit narrow. Not really any to put a lounge chair. Overall pretty good. Staff is excellent

Toro Blanco has a retro vibe that fits the feel of the neighborhood. It is located one block off the beach and is close to casual beachfront dining and entertainment. Kelly at the front desk was very friendly and informative. We had a well equipped kitchen in our unit and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. I enjoyed the hammock on the patio. The AC worked well. We stayed 2nights and wish we had recognized the hotel’s proximity to ‘the strip’ before we booked. Not a problem if you are there to party into the wee hours but the loud music from the local bars kept us up both nights. The property is in need of a facelift and we were uncomfortable with the fragile doors and locks to our room … the patio door did not lock at all. It helped a bit that there was a security guard at night.
