Very nice Riad within minutes of the main square. Friendly staff and excellent rooftop breakfast. Rooms and common areas are not as polished as the pictures would suggest but not in bad shape either - decent and everything works. Complimentary water would be helpful in the rooms.

Very nice quiet street. But you are surrounded by action and access to all your delights. By walking around you can get lost in the excitement and discover litlle gems just tucked away. Staying in the madina you get the real feel of the environment. The riad I stayed in was very nice clean.Very good Breakfast to get you started cheap and cheerful. Was not busy at this time. I would've stayed longer

I came to stay in Essouira for a night but ended up for 5 nights since it was a charming town and gnaoua festival was going on! This place is close to everywhere and has awesome and helpful people! The owner, Clemente, is such a cool guy and we ended up hanging out! If you come to Essouira this is the place you want to stay!

This riad was perfectly situated just mins from the main square. The staff went above and beyond to help with all our requests, and recommendations for tours, restaurants and places to shop, and the breakfast was the best we had throughout our trip in Morroco. The rooftop cafe was a delight, although up quite a number of stairs. Would stay here again.

Very beautiful riad, located in a nice area of old medina, walking distance to all the attractions (and the bus station). Breakfast was great. The owner was very kind and prompt in responses to all inquiries (and fluent in multiple languages). We had a great stay and will come back again.

The place is fine overall but the lack of a door for the toilet instead of saloon doors that while lovely provide no privacy. The Wi Fi sort of works but is not great. Breakfast and relatively cheap beer were good. Sketchy characters smoking marijuana hang out near the place at night but pose no real risk. Staff did not help with getting bags up to second floor so have no expectations about that. Breakfast ladies were friendly.

A beautiful riad with a pretty rooftop terrace. The room was cosy & the bed was heaven. The mattress was so soft & good. The best bes i had in my stay in Morocco thus far. The breakfast spread was good & delicous too. The staircase though was like a mountain climb especially with heavy luggages. But it was only a minute of pain.

The owner was very welcoming and the location of the Riad is very central, close to the main sightseeing spots. The only drawback is that there is no Air Conditioning whereas on the site it mentions that there is.

Right in the Medina, yet very quiet at night. Next to the fishing port, with plenty to see. Rooftop terrace for breakfast in the sun with views of the ocean. Beautiful place.

Al Zahia was all we expected and more for a reasonable price. Our family room had enough space for parents and two kids, and the lounge downstairs was comfortable. The wifi in the hotel worked well, but Internet service in the city was spotty. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was very good each morning. (It might be too much to ask a small riad, but I also love it when hotels have early morning coffee and tea service in their lobby.) I would definitely recommend Al Zahia to friends going to Essaouira.
