This is not a hotel. It 's a serviced apartment. There are no reception staff. You need to pay a $ 200 deposit, arranged before you are given the code to get in, to cover potential damage to the room. The Deposit is taken for 2 weeks. This is not outlined by any booking service at the time of booking. And I only found out when I rocked up at the hotel. To find it was not a hotel. Needed to have a long conversation and fill out on line forms before being told how to enter the premises. You enter the premises with a key pad. The room is lovely, with comfortable beds and linen. The second night I was there the key pad did not work. It was 10 pm, in a dodgy area, and cold. I had to ring the service to get help. 15 minutes on hold. Then transferred to a second staff member, another 5 minutes on hold-she could not remedy the issue. All up I was outside on the street for 35 minutes-at times on my knees in a dark alcove, trying to get they keypad to work. Finally they were able to access the code box remotely via computer. Coffee shop not open on a Saturday. Downstairs is a sterile and cold environment. Not a great experience.

For the DoublePetit. This was perfect for us. Two people, two motorbikes, and our backpacks. If you are planning to bring lots of belongings, this isn't the room for you. We loved the simplistic layout and newly renovated space. Darlinghurst is a busy area with plenty of restaurant options close by. We also liked the tiny balconies overlooking the streets. It was nice to watch the city life over a cup of coffee. Some areas for improvements could be the check-in. We didn't get the verification email ahead of time and needed to sort on arrival over the phone to Rest. Initially, this was a concern as there's no front desk reception, but it was quickly resolved. The place could benefit from some hooks on the wall next to the sink for people to hang their bag or jackets. The hanger area was tight for our big jackets to fit. This was much nicer than any back packer place and overall, regardless of any suggested improvements, we would rebook. We had a relaxing night, comfy bed, peaceful, and quiet. Thank you for hosting us.
