Great place

Furst, it wasn't mentioned on website that an additional deposit would be required at check-in. It was returned at checkout. Second, there wasn't any type of entertainment at the property. It was very quiet, but decent sleep. Third, in the town of Russell most dining close at 9pm. Nearest dining would be Ottawa, drive back is unlit country roads.

This was handled poorly. Arrived with a text asking for e-transfer of deposit. Then said cash deposit was fine. Did not even stay in this rental.

I recently stayed at this beautiful house that was impeccably clean and featured a stunning master suite. The area was serene and picturesque, perfect for relaxation. However, it’s quite far from Ottawa, so keep that in mind if you plan to explore the city. Overall, I highly recommend this property for a tranquil getaway, and I would definitely return!

The property is a house with about 4 to 5 bedrooms. Each bedroom is a guest room. Expect to share 1 washroom with 4 to 6 strangers. The place is fine if you are only looking to crash for the night. Don't expect much more. The only advantage it had was that it was a low cost stay and had free parking. However note that since random strangers could be using the parking spots, your car could be blocked by other guests. The place is about 40km from Ottawa. If you are driving to the property at night, expect a long dark drive with no street lights for long distances.

The bed is quite basic, equipped with two pillows and a bedsheet. The house itself feels rather bare, with no decorations on the walls, which gives it a somewhat empty and impersonal vibe. That said, it’s an affordable option that works well for a quick overnight stop, which is what we needed. One thing to note: the owner reached out the morning of our stay requesting a $100 security deposit via e-transfer. The Expedia website clearly states not to send money outside of the platform so I reached out to Expedia and they told that we could send the deposit. Unfortunately, the refund was not issued automatically after checkout, and I had to follow up to receive it. Also, the rooms are not soundproof, so we could hear noise from adjacent spaces, which may be a concern for light sleepers.

I had to pop in and out for work, and my experience was great. The place was affordable, easy to get to, and my host was gracious and flexible. Definitely recommend this as a place to stay.

Awesome stay!

No warm bedding. Thermostat locked at 18 degrees. Owner did not visit his house. No hairdryer.Same 4 towels had to be used for 4 days.No glasses for water in bathroom.
