Great value!

Very clean, modern, great wifi. Easy to self check in and easy to store luggage. No complaints!

Location is Super b location, 5 min to the ship terminal and 5 min to the old Town. Check in and out like a breeze. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Great location to the port and bus depot as both are easily walking distance to the hotel. Stunning, new facility and kept spotless. Tram stop was less than a block away. Laundry on-site was a great feature although 10 Euros for wash and 10 Euros for a dryer were probably on the high side.

Clean, modern, but short on typical amenities -- no TV, no fridge, no safe, no closet, limited housekeeping. There are TVs in shared areas, and a kitchen with big shared fridge, microwave, and kettles, which is pretty good. But someone stole food from me once from the shared fridge and went through my thoroughly tied bag another time. It would be easy to install a camera watching the fridge and a sign announcing this to prevent this or at least catch the people who do this. (It would be better to put fridges in the rooms or at least provide fridge rental.) The laundry facilities are good but expensive at 10 € for a medium load wash AND ANOTHER 10 € for 40 minutes of drying time. A good value if you understand the limits and a pleasant place to stay, and the location between Old Town and the ferry terminal is excellent, but it's about a 5-minute walk to Rottermann, where there a wide variety of restaurants and shops; it's about 10 minutes to the Viru Gate into Old Town or the Viru Keskus shopping center. There's outdoor parking fairly nearby for 6 € a day, or very convenient parking underneath the bidding with elevator access to the hotel for 10 € a day. This is a nice plus. I would prefer if Expedia listings included relevant information about amenities instead of it being a surprise when you arrive. All of the rooms have some sort of windows in the hotel, but I have several times rented rooms in other hotels without windows with no notice of that in the Expedia listing.

I had never stayed at a Citybox hotel and was a bit dubious about self check-in and other sort of “do it yourself” aspects. In fact, when we arrived to check-in, I realized I didn’t have my check-in code. I must have deleted that email from Citybox. However, the staff were extremely helpful and retrieved my code and we were up and running. At the check-in kiosk, I was able to pay by tapping my card, and the kiosk dispensed my card keys without a glitch. That evening, I noticed that the room was quite warm (almost 25 degrees), so I “complained” to a staff member who took a device to the room to check the temp at ghe AC vent and it checked out to be 20 degrees at the register, but she acknowledged that the room was warm. She thought that maybe the AC hadn’t had time to cool the room yet. She told me to let the staff know if the room was still too warm when we returned from dinner. Well, it wasn’t, but we decided to tough it out for that evening. The next morning I told staff member that the room was still too warm. She went to the room with me and confirmed that the AC wasn’t working correctly. She assigned a different room right away. Because we had switched rooms, the attached restaurant where we were to have the “hotel” breakfast got signals crossed and had instructions to provide only one breakfast, so again a staff member walked to the breakfast venue with me to straighten it out. On both occasions, the staff members were friendly, helpful, and professional.

Enjoyable stay, smooth check in and out and good location for quick access to the old town and the port. Some small things absent from the room meant it wasn’t perfect (annoying light switch setup, no shelf for the shower or door, no fridge). Room was a little dusty for us also.

A very pleasant stay. Although the restaurant was good, it would have been even better if there had been a buffet option. Very slick and clean. Perfect access to ferry and eateries. Train station a tram ride away

My room was clean and comfortable. The location was great for enjoying shopping, restaurants, and the old town area.

Super convenient and great value. Only issue was the room was warm and the thermostat wouldn’t adjust. Might help to have instructions but I tried adjusting it in several ways.

It was an average stay for this type of hotel. It's difficult to judge service when there is virtually no staff from check in to check out.

The hotel is self check in located next to the sea port. Very nice area with shopping and dining. Convenient to take a ferry to Helsinki. Room was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. Definitely will stay again.

Central modern and convenient

Not much staff, but everything works. I did not have the views in the photos from my room, it faced an office building. Overall, good cost benefit, especially if you need to be close to the port.

Very convenient location about a 15 minute walk from Old Town, and less than 10 minutes to the various ferry ports if planning to go to Helsinki. Check-in/out on the kiosks was straightforward. Rooms were a decent size and there is a shared kitchen where you can store any food, if bringing. Neighborhood seemed to be in an up and coming area with lots of restaurants and shops. Def recommend stopping at Rost for a coffee and pastry.

A wonderful hotel in an excellent location

City Box Tallinn has single rooms with slim windows to an indoor courtyard that go for 50 euros a night, taxes included. This is my price point, considering I just need a decent place to sleep at night and shower in the morning. The 12 p.m. check-out time (mall and supermarket nearby) allows me to leave my bag in the room while I run a few morning errands.

Very nice hotel. Right by the old city and off a tram line. Very convenient if traveling by ferry. Rooms are nice and hotel was very quiet. We included the breakfast in our room and it was very good!

The rate is exceptional for how modern and well located the hotel is. You do sacrifice some of the usual amenities you might expect in a hotel like a tv, fridge, microwave and room space but this didn’t bother me any. My only negative feedback would be that the towels were just sad especially since we went to the CityBox Helsinki after and they had much nicer towels. Also the room would get too hot and I couldn’t get the cool setting to work. Definitely would stay again though!
