The place is beautifully presented and the staff are extremely welcoming and helpful we had a lovely stay and will definitely consider staying here again in the future.

If I could give zero stars that is what I’d give it. Turned up to retrieve key for a cabin and the reception boy had a didn’t care attitude, then went to cabin to find it absolutely stunk of cat pee , to which I returned the key and complained and was put into another cabin which at least didn’t stink, then during the night it teemed down and there was no water direction and had to walk through a stream of water everywhere you went so couldn’t use the facilities.

Amazing location right on the beach and 10 minute walking to Pancake Rocks! Cabin was great with a small fridge and kettle, and had a nice private deck to sit out on. The shared kitchen was really helpful and the camp provided all the cooking supplies we needed!

Beautiful location for outdoor adventure.

The cabin we stayed in had a very strong musty odour in the bedroom. We tried to sleep with all the windows open to alleviate the noxious smell. Ended up leaving at 0330 in the morning because the smell was so terrible! The beach was lovely!

This place has only one area access to the wifi. Otherwise it was a nice & beautiful place.

What a beautiful spot! We were in the riverside cabin, absolutely stunning! Beautiful 360° views from the campsite and just a quick stroll to get to the beach. Kayaks and paddle boards also nearby to rent for the river. Punakaiki is just a special place, sunshine or rain.

Good position, cabin extremely small. No flyscreens and room filled with biting sandflies.

Easy access to beach and river for the little ones, mostly sand which was great. Cabin with two bunks was almost too warm overnight with 2 adults and 2 children though. Friendly, helpful staff.

The campground is a bit older, but very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, making my stay enjoyable. A wonderful getaway surrounded by nature!

Floor had sand, linen had hairs, no towels were provided.

Bonus of food cart with whitebait fritters after 3pm. Cabins had tea and coffee but no milk. No supermarket in Punakaiki so bring food if you want to use kitchen in cabin.

Calm and quiet place with beach less than a three minute walk.

Thankful for the option of a small cabin, as all the motels in the area were fully booked. Also, the coffee/eats/ice cream cart was wonderful. Really enjoyed the easy access to the beach!

Unique stay, room is basic, pillows aren’t great. Wonderful atmosphere. Towels aren’t provided but front desk was nice and gave us some.

Lovely hot water in the showers, close to the beach, lots of amenities. Great to be able to buy supper and coffee on site
