We loved our 4 day stay here. Definitely different from the run of the mill Western style hotels, only minutes away from the Nile..Way more peaceful than the east bank situated in a very friendly village. The management and staff were amazingly helpful and kind. The restaurant was great, we never even bothered eating anywhere else.

Love the West Bank, less hassle and more green countryside. Just a short walk from the ferry. There was a problem with a light bulb not working, but it was quickly fixed. Enjoyed the breakfast, excellent value for money.

Very comfortable room. Family owned business that showed obvious pride in property upkeep. Loved the rooftop terrace with spectacular view of the pyramids. Able to see and hear the sound and light show from the terrace.

The hotel is good, but they tried to take economic advance during our stay. The hotel charged 4 to 5 times the prices for taxis, boats, etc... it was very unpleasant, for we knew they were taking a big cut. During the last night when we wanted to do the check out, they told us that we hadn't pay for the room in advance and that we had to pay again at the hotel. They expressed that us already paid for the room wasn't their problem because they didn't have a record of it, and that we made the reservation trough a cheating and sketchy company. I had to spent more than 1.5 hours resolving the situation and had to make a call to US from 30 minutes to resolve this.

Third trip to Egypt (on the other two times, in organized trip). This time I bet to enjoy these places at my own. The first stop was Luxor and, with the intention of avoiding the tourist life, I decided to stay at this hotel on the west side. I can not say more than good things. Of course, for those looking for luxury or great amenities, this is not the place. For those who want to be in a genuine environment, with the people of that small town where there are hundreds of felucas and dahabiyas, and where people live at their own pace without paying too much attention to tourists. The Gezira Garden Hotel is a small hotel with a real orchard of plants and trees. The pool is small but enough to cool off after visiting the temples. All the staff, especially Mohamed, the manager, is available for any order or help. And very important: there is a bar with alcohol and restaurant. At this time it was empty, so the prices were very good and the peace was unparalleled: just some foreigners living in the area who go to the hotel in the afternoon to socialize and have a beer. To be discovered! Thank you!
