Totally disappointed with how dated the room was. Definitely charging more than they should. The top bunk bed in the family room isn’t safe as the mattress is too tall and there’s risk of kids falling out. There were slugs in the bathroom which my husband had to pick out and the walls and floor were so grubby. We found a toenail on the floor too. The pillows and the bed are very uncomfortable and we didn’t get a good nights sleep the entire three nights we were there. We wish we’d stayed in the premier inn. Paid almost £300 for 3 nights and I have no idea what we paid for as no one came to turn down our bedroom, and we had to seek out hand soap as none was left in the bathroom for us to use. The staff were very lovely and helpful. Won’t be back.

Room was outside up lots of steps .

We stayed in a double room but it was small, paid for a spacious room with sea view there was no sea view we had buildings to look out onto, it looked run down from the outside.

No draught beers and a packet of crisps was £2-50 total ripp off one of our friends slipped coming down the stairs and there was no hand rail

Curtains were hanging off, no real facilities. Would not use it again

The staff were friendly and welcoming, any issues were resolved quickly. The room was clean and more than adequate for my stay although it was a little tired around the edges, blind was fraying and the paint could do with a little refresh. I didn’t use any of the other facilities, however the bar area looked clean and spacious and clear signage around the hotel to help you navigate.

Great place to stay

Excellent location for all that Barry offers. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our standard double room was spacious, clean and had tall ceilings and big windows. You could open windows fully unlike other hotels which is great.

Cheap and cheerful for a one night stay. A few faults. Booking family rooms up 2 and a half flights of narrow stairs, windows in both rooms were faulty doesnt shut or a shash window with no lock or safety guard on a 2nd floor. Advertised lift which doesnt go to all floor, no bistro for food, bar very limited, parking extremely tight and very limited for the size of the hotel.

Family room didn't match the pictures on the website. The bunk bed was incredibly unstable that we couldn't allow our child or anyone else to sleep up there. I can only presume the hotel are upgrading this room at a later time?. Unfortunately wasn't a pleasant stay due to someone having a domestic argument in the corridor and the condition of the walls meant we heard everything in the corridor and the room next door. Room clearly on the hotels to-do list.

Extremely helpful staff, friendly, customer service very good. Room could have benefitted from more coffee,/teas and sundries. Overall very good value for money

Clean, quiet friendly staff The room we had was lovely. Easy to get to the area had lovely beaches and some beautiful walks.

- Staff were amazing - location was perfect - room was a good size - bathroom was good, shower was a bit small but was manageable. No where to put shower things - random noise went off for about 3 minutes couple times in the night - parking was interesting

We didn't get the type of room we paid for and the mattress was beyond uncomfortable, had a very thin duvet and only 2 very thin pillows. Spoke to reception the following morning and were moved immediately. Next room was more like what we were expecting. Mattress still uncomfortable where you could feel the springs, duvet & pillows were the same as other room. Shower head wasn't working properly, spoke to reception and to be fair she had it changed whilst we were out getting breakfast.

Clean, tidy, great view of Barry island. Lots of local shops and train station close by.

Neeeds a lot TLC but staff lovely and not far from beach.beds are very comfortable slept well 😴
