Amazing stay! The host were friendly and accommodating, great night sleep. very comfortable and clean room, great size everything you needed, balcony was a pleasant addition. amazing breakfast with great variety.

Enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Staff were great especially Lorraine, who gave us a great welcome to the hotel and gave my wife a picture of Elvis when we left, because my wife was wearing an Elvis t-shirt. Lots of veggie options on the breakfast menu. The bed was comfortable, and it was nice to have a bath in room 1.

This property was above and beyond what we expected, Lorraine and Adrian were the most amazing hosts. Breakfast was superb and our room was very comfortable.

I had a very speedy check in, and the team at Avoncourt were very helpful accomodating a quick and delicious breakfast, and even giving me a choice of which room I wanted on my arrival. I will definitely stay here again if I come back to Ilfracombe!

We had a very warm welcome and were shown to our room. It had a wonderful view across Ilfracombe. Both the room and bathroom were spacious and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. A fully stocked hospitality tray including bottled water were available. The hotel is on the coastal path, with stunning views from the cliff just a few minutes' walk away. The walk to the harbour or the high street are easy to do - just bear in mind there are some steep roads. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order with various options, and fruit, cereals and fruit juices were also available. The hotel is in a very quiet area, so we had a good night's sleep. Even the gulls sounded muted. We will definitely return as this is now our favourite place to stay! Tip - feeling peckish or thirsty late at night? In a neighbouring property there are vending machines with sweet, savoury and drinks available 24/7.

An excellent stay all round. Lorraine (who seems to do everything and be everywhere) is just the perfect host, so friendly and efficient. The bedroom was spotlessly clean and well furnished, good tea and coffee tray, excellent wi-fi and big bathroom. Breakfasts are amazing, a much more varied choice than most places and absolutely delicious, with quality ingredients to meet all tastes There's free parking outside, with in reserved spaces or on the road. It's a bit of a walk from the town centre and harbour areas (15-20 minutes) but you do get great views of the town and out to sea.

The staff here are very friendly and helpful. However, l did not like my single room..there wasn’t enough room for even a single chair. The furniture is just about adequate..it has a cheap look. The breakfast was ok..cheaper ingredients than l am used to.

We stayed for 3 nights at Avoncourt Lodge, we were down from Kent for a wedding at Tunnels Beaches and this B&B is perfectly located just a 5 minute walk from the venue. The room was spacious and well equipped, very clean and had an amazing balcony with a view across Ilfracombe. Breakfast was really tasty, as was the coffee and selection of jams, cereals etc. Special mention to Lorraine who made sure we were looked after, always wanting to help and made the stay that bit more special. Would definitely recommend and come back in the future, Thank you

Friendly and efficient staff, attention to detail, clean and tidy, very quiet

On arrival we were met by one of the owners, who was very friendly and informative. She continued to be so throughout our stay, giving us ideas of where to go and even offering us a lift into town. The other owner we only saw at breakfast but she was equally friendly and efficient. The breakfasts were delicious, filling and healthy ( fresh fruit salad with yoghurt)

On arrival we were greeted by Alison one of the owners & she gave us an idea of our bearings this was fantastic and really began a wonderful relationship for the whole stay. The room was small but extremely functional for us both and really comfortable and clean, only a couple of minor issues with maybe updating a few things but everything worked and we were extremely happy for the duration of our stay The breakfast and facilities were excellent & we loved our mornings catching up with the owners, John the chef was superb and the food was exceptional Loved the location the people and the food and slept extremely well for the duration of our stay We would recommend highly this wonderful accommodation and the owners/ staff were a credit to the Hospitality community

To be honest, my heart sunk when we first arrived, the approach to the Lodge and general outside looks quite unkempt, and a bit scruffy. The reception, bar, breakfast and lounge areas all quite old fashioned and basic, also bedrooms where quite dated and everything in need of refurbishment. but saying that the staff and breakfasts really made up for it, the place seemed clean, and the bed was comfy, I enjoyed a lovely hot bath & nice fluffy white towels. all of the staff were absolutely amazing and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was way and above expectations. so for the price we paid all in all it turned out okay.

A lovely little B&B close to the centre of Ilfracombe. Room was clean and well sized and the owners/staff and breakfast were great.

The staff were very accommodating, nice, and helpful! They gave excellent local recommendations and were very friendly. Breakfast was an amazing freshly cooked english breakfast and can cater to vegetarian/low gluten options. The room was comfortable, and the stay was well worth the money!
