Unusually they do not provide shampoo, shower gel etc so bear in mind you must bring your own, ditto coffee; they provided two sachets of coffee but no decaffeinated. A good overnight stop though between the M1, M6 and M40.

Absolutely disgusting hotel. If we weren’t tied for the night we would have been away! Everything close by was booked. 3 rooms we went in to get one partially ok! The bed was the worst bed I think I have ever lay on! The cleanliness was vile. Hairs in bath! The dust was an inch thick! It’s the worst place I have ever had to stay. After checking in there was no way we were going to eat there so we ventured into Kenilworth

The hotel gets mixed reviews. For my purposes (single traveller, 1 night business trip) it was very good especially for the price. I had a newly refurbished room with king sized bed. The room had plenty of space, and was very clean. Lots of parking on the hotel in a safe area. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming. I'd say the hotel is being gradually upgraded to a budget, which given the cost of my room is fine for me. There was no chair / desk which is slightly annoying when on a business trip, also strangely no bedside table or similar. Location: it is about 1.5 miles walk into the centre of town. I quite enjoyed this, and got a bus back; the bus stop is right outside hotel, and you get live bus times on the Stagecoach app These were minor issues for me, everything was good and I would stay again if doing the same trip

Excellent air conditioning . There should be a safe in the rooms - this is an issue.

Disappointing Stay at Riverside Hotel, Kenilworth — Room 228 (23rd to 26th June) I stayed at the Riverside Hotel in Kenilworth between 23rd and 26th June 2025, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. To begin with, room 228 lacked a desk or table, making it impossible to carry out any work comfortably. For a hotel that claims to accommodate business travellers, this is a basic and expected amenity that was noticeably absent. On the first morning, the fire alarm began sounding at 6:30am and continued every two minutes for a prolonged period. This was incredibly disruptive and completely ruined any chance of a restful start to the day. The main light in the room wasn’t working, meaning the room remained dimly lit throughout the stay — an issue that should have been identified and rectified prior to check-in. Dinner was also a disappointment. I ordered the lamb curry, which, although it had decent flavour, only included six small pieces of meat. For the price charged, this felt stingy and poor value. Incredibly, over the entire four-day, three-night stay, the room was supplied with just one 20ml bottle of bath/shower gel — which is frankly ridiculous for a stay of that length. It gives the impression of cost-cutting at the expense of basic guest comfort. To make matters worse, from the second day onward, my room key stopped working, requiring repeated walks back to reception to have it reset. This was an unnecessary and frustrating inconvenience.

Close by an event I needed to attend. Reasonably priced and clean, but they need to revamp.

I have no idea how this place has a 3* rating or a 7.9/10 on Hotels.com. Other review sites have it as 3/5 my fault for not looking further before booking. I booked an executive suite and was given a small old twin. I asked to swap and was given a double room that reception assured me was an executive suite but it looked nothing like the pictures on here. Bar area is very tired as is most of the hotel, may be going through a renovation but needs lots more work. My bed was two singles pushed together with the mattresses from 20 years and 10 years ago respectively. Both awful. Stayed in room 118 and the bathroom was fine bedroom not so much. Also the car park had loads of gas canisters left all over it. I’m assuming this is where the local teenagers come to get high.

I really enjoyed my stay here and will definitely stay again. Only thing I would say is that the carpet wasn’t hoovered but honestly it wasn’t the biggest deal and I just didn’t walk around barefoot.

You’re only going to a hotel like this to get a good night sleep. And that is not what happened at this hotel. The bed is dreadful two single beds pushed together with waterproof mattresses and a very thin sheet over the top which is not fitted. It was the most uncomfortable night sleep I’ve ever had. The only thing that was going was the shower.

booked this as a junior suite - it was a normal size double room - bed clean and comfortable but two singles zipped together. Very disappointed with this hotel. No staff on reception, no bell to ring - waited then went hunting and eventually one turned up, however his communication skills were terrible - could not follow what he said about breakfast etc but thought there would be a card in the room - no card in room. Aircon unit difficult to work out and it was wall mounted directly over the bed with long drip stains down the wall where something had leaked. All the furniture has stains scratches and scrapes on it. No plug in the washbasin and the shower cubicle was less than 1m square with a large shower head poking halfway across - you had to pin yourself to the opposite wall to get sprayed by it. Zero atmosphere - almost like a ghost ship. will not stay here again, there is a hotel in eyesight of this one we have stayed at before and will do so again in preference to this. Not worth it - GRIM

What do you get for £69 quid these days? Not a lot. The staff are excellent, the bed is comfortable, and the room is tired but clean. Breakfast is served from 7 to 9, with plenty to choose from and cold. The evening meal vast choice if you like Indian but only fish or scampi as an alternative. Very limited, as a place for workers good, for those who like a choice in cuisine not good and a longer stay not good. 2 days long enough. This is our second visit to this hotel unless we hear of major improvement it is our last.
