Room needed updating, bed was uncomfortable, could feel the springs!

Quaint, clean and easy to stay

Harder to find. Had to ask for a extra towel as there was only one. Ok on clean. Headboard was dusty. Owner was quite nice

Was a good position for my needs. Staff friendly, room clean and shower was good. Would of been nice if decaff tea or coffee was provided. No.complaints.

Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting friends. Although on a main road it is in an isolated spot. It did not come with breakfast they did leave cereal bars and porridge pots. The rooms were clean and tidy but with a mismatch of furniture. The food in the restaurant was excellent, very tasty.

This was a great value stay. Efficient and friendly reception, shown to my room, spacious room, good shower, porridge and cereal bar given for breakfasts in the room (as well as the usual tea and coffee), proper coat hangers and a quality large kettle. Minor inconveniences would be that it can be difficult to see where to park (very temporarily) and it takes a good couple of minutes to get hot water from the hot water tap over the sink. By the way, the menu and restaurant look great.

Clean tidy good food

If cost is your main priority then this place ticks that box. However, if you value cleanliness and comfort then avoid as the whole place was covered in dust and hairs including the hairdryer and light fittings. Not the kind of dust you see after a day or two but like month old dust.

The expedia.ca rating for this place is TOO HIGH. This place is dismal, old, tired, run-down, terrible, and in the middle of nowhere. There were holes in the duvet cover on our bed. We barely had any hot water in the shower no matter how we fiddled with the taps (so, yeah, cold showers it was!?). When we cked out, we needed to call a taxi, and the reception was not even open. Thankfully, there is a mechanic shop next door, so we went there to use their phone. If we had not have pre-paid for 2 nights, I would not have even stayed one night. However, as soon as we checked in, I was on the expedia.ca site & got an agent to help get the 2nd night refunded, by using the site's chat feature. I was soooo thankful not to have to stay here a second night. Expedia really needs to ensure their ratings match the reality of hotels. The rating on the site when I booked was 8.6/10. I would not even give the site a 1/10 rating!!

The staff and service were faultless. I order a meal to my room and it was lovely. Would stay here again.

My room was clean although dated. The inn does not do breakfast, however they do provide pots of instant porridge and energy bars. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and carried my suitcase to my room. Now for the best part. The Inn is attached to the Gurkha Nepalese restaurant. The food is top notch with attentive staff, but not in your face. I strongly recommend the 5/6 bean soup for the starter. The dogs danglies.

Pretty basic

Stopped here as a night before gatwick. Room was clean but warm for some reason we couldn't work out. Restaurant was brilliant and staff mainly ghurkas superb. Parking was tight but Restaurant was full.

What a friendly place to stay. Excellent value. A bit noisy being on the main road but comfy and breakfast was fun!

Booked for an overnight stay before flight next day. No issues to locate. Gatwick a 20 minute drive (no traffic). Lots of pubs and eateries in the area - by car!! I can’t imagine walking anywhere from the woodcock as it’s country lanes. Hotel restaurant is very convenient. Menu prices as expected. Indoor and outdoor seating service is prompt and no waiting around. I think this place is popular amongst locals in the area (?). we liked the wall mounted smart tv, kettle / tea / coffe milk in the room, and the soap, shower gel and shampoo provided. Room is cosy and clean enough. Would’ve liked a couple more hooks to hang jackets towels etc. No air con in our room but the 2 fans were helpful. Very warm inside the room in the summer! Open windows and the noise from fast moving vehicles may keep one awake - our room 15 front facing. Check out is straightforward- leave the key in the box on the way out. Parking for over 10 cars at least from what I could see. Would use this hotel again in the future.

A very nice little hotel. Friendly, helpful staff and the bonus of a restaurant with Himalayan food.
