This is an amazing place to stay overnight at before a cruise we were to pick up in Southampton the next day. We stayed here last year for the same reason. The rooms are lovely, staff are very welcoming and the food is great. Romsey is a lovely town to explore, short walk along the river test, through a lovely park, have a look round the Cathedral on the way, very nice.

Check in was quick and easy. Room very comfortable. Lovley bathroom amenities. It was a very hot day and grateful for the air conditioner in the room.

I chose the Cromwell Arms because of the ground floor rooms as my friend uses a walker and cannot manage stairs. We were both delighted with the room, the dining options and the wonderful staff - they were so kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. It is very close to the town centre, so we were able to go into Romsay easily and quickly - excellent.

The Room was good and included a Nespresso Coffee machine and good quality teabags. I especially liked the large Bath sheets. Above all the staff were all very helpful and welcoming. The side of the property which is on a main road looked a little uninviting.Unfortunately the traffic causes dirt to splash up onto the windows.Overall I would recommend the Cromwell Arms.

Really nice pub/hotel on the outskirts of Romsey (walkable in about 15 mins). Comfy bed, good decor, nice bathroom. Food was very good too 😁

Very modern, spacious and comfortable room. Dinner menu was good with very good choice of drinks. Good cooked breakfast, but there could have been more options available. The service at breakfast was slow. The only disappointment was the toilet had urine in it on our arrival. The beer garden was also packed with kids running around, making it difficult to carry luggage through the throng.

An overnight stay prior to cruising from Southampton - great option in that respect and we will be back. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Food was good and as the sun was out, the outside patio area was lovely. Very impressed that they had some outdoor games for adults and children and what looked like bottles of sun cream - if they were, then very impressive. Room (disabled Superior room) was a good size and clean with some quality touches (Tea Pig tea bags for example). If you want to be nit-picky, the pillows were too firm for me and a bit of grouting on the wet room floor looked as though it needed replacing. We will definitely be booking again when we come down for our next trip later in the year.

This was our fourth time visiting the Cromwell Arms. It's a lovely little gem for a sneaky little night away for 2. Rooms are lovely and the pub serves delicious food. My only gripe was that they no longer give you the mini bottle of gin and tonic water in the room, which was always a nice touch, we got the normal bottle of bear.... but no gin for me :-(.
