The room we had had a problem with the toilet. It took ages to stop filling up & at one point the flusher stayed down so we had no toilet in our room. We went down for breakfast today at 9am only to find the landlord had overslept so the place was all closed up. Even the staff were waiting outside to get in. One member of staff, Natalie , was a great member of staff & very helpful. Great location for the town but very casual approach.

This was end of Day one on the Coast to Cost bike ride. Staff great, no breakfast included in rate, bike was brought upstairs into room. Great location - it’s a popular working pub with parking so busy until late evening at the weekends. Solid value for money, great room size, could do with some investment to update rooms.

Staff were very friendly, rooms were a great size, comfy beds, lovely fresh breakfast - I will definitely be back, and I will recommend it to others too.

comfortable room in a great location. we did not eat at their restaurant, but everybody we met in town recommended eating there... particularly good steaks apparently. We will eat there the next time we stay there.

Early check out is a hassle. Staff not always present on site. Difficult to communicate with hotel staff in case of emergency

Nice staff, food good. Room was really cold though, windows had been left open and it was such a cold day. Not overly welcoming.

Staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was clean ,tidy and lovely and warm. Had a lovely view of the castle and shops were handy. Was easy to find and so handy for the A66 to the lakes. Will definitely visit again.

The room is clean n spacious. Don’t like the tap. In today advancements the sink tap need to change to a mixer tap. Not the old fashioned tap hot n cold separate taps.

Landlord & landlady were perfect hosts at my grandson’s 18th birthday party. Food was nice & our bedroom was nice & clean
