The staff were great (10/10) and so was dinner (10/10), but my room was more or less over the bar from which a "bum-thwaka bum-thwaka" issued endlessly until I complained at 11.45 pm. The bed had both head board and foot board and was not made for a 6 foot three inch person. Its mattress was probably in use at the time of King George I! If I had been assigned another bedroom (with a more contemporary mattress), I would have rated my stay five stars.

Very nice dinner and breakfast. Room and everywhere else clean and tidy and as you would expect. Comfortable bed, slept great! Staff all very friendly and cannot do enough to help. Definitely coming back

Very clean room. Friendly staff. Room very hot when we arrived, we had to open the window as the radiator too a long time to turn cold once closed.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and did a great job accommodating our dietary requirements. The room was beautiful and the location was perfect for our trip to Cheddar Gorge. I would definitely recommend.

It was outstanding accommodations, comfortable bed great tub and shower. Met the owner and spent some time in the attached pub. Staff was amazing, had breakfast the next morning and that was outstanding as well. Definitely a recommendation to stay here.

Lovely historic pub in a super friendly village, room was immaculate, staff were friendly & efficient, fantastic food, would stay again if in the area. Got to see the 91st young farmers event in the car park!

Beautiful place to stay excellent service from the staff.

Unfortunately, on arrival ,it turned out previous guests had gone off with Room Key and without duplicate immediately available, it took some while before we knew whether we were staying in that Room or moving until a replacement key was finally sourced. I fairness to all staff , they could n`t have been more apologetic and we were offered drinks whilst we waited.Room itself , was very good , very clean and spacious. However, only drawback is the Air Condition Unit outside at rear which is very noisy tho` off at 9.00 so night `s sleep not disturbed. disturbed

Friendly staff, Great food

Really great location, room was furnished very nicely and lots of great amenities. My only criticism is the food menu, it’s very limited with very few options.

Great base for exploring Cheddar / Glastonbury area. Feee parking, fabulous bar and beer garden. Craft beer bar in the courtyard and a lovely bar in the hotel with a couple of local ales, ciders and choice of lager. Breakfast was really good, food overall was a good quality. Feee WiFi. Room was lovely, very spacious and a modern bathroom. ALL of the staff were wonderful! Friendly, helpful and cheerful. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.
