Good food pleasant staff , all good.

I had booked a room at the George and Dragon as I have always done for the last few years when working at Oulton Park. Admittedly they did notify me a few weeks ago that I was now staying at the pub across the road which they had now acquired, but to be honest it wasn't as ideal. Picky I know. But having to check in at the George and Dragon to then walk across to collect key and be shown to your room etc is a minor point, but similarly all meals were back at the George and Dragon. The Red Lion being just a pub is considerably noisier and with the room being just above the bar, things didn't quieten down till done 11:30. Yes the room has obviously been recently refurbished, but the whole stay is much better when staying at the George and Dragon.

Such a lovely and welcoming pub and staff, would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the area. Also the breakfast is banging.

Really lovely place to stay, our room was really cosy and welcoming, staff were great and we ate in the pub and the food was also lovely and good value for money. Would definitely recommend and return.

We’re visiting from Canada. We enjoyed staying at the Inn. The room was a little warm at night because of the warm weather. It was really easy to take a bus to the Chester Bus Station and walk a few minutes to the Chester train station to go to Liverpool for the day. The staff and everyone we met were so friendly.

The George and Dragon was ideal, everyone very friendly but our room was opposite the hotel. The room itself was clean and in good order but so hot that we couldnt and didnt sleep all night. It was extremely noisy and the small lobby and stairs up to our room was filthy!! This was s real shame as the managers were very welcoming as were the bar staff.

The george and dragon is very clean the rooms are very spaceious and clean the staff are very helpfull the breafast is lovley we will be staying there again

We only booked to stay on the day of our arrival, so very short notice! We were warmly welcomed and our room was available for us. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and delicious, we had a good choice of food and on the second morning we had specific requests which were met without any hesitation. The parking was not a problem in the car park with ample space. We only had to register our car in reception for the duration of our stay. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend the George and Dragon in Tarvin. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Lovely pub, friendly staff. We only stayed 1 night but the rooms were very clean and had everything you needed. The breakfast was cooked beautifully and really tasty. We would have had diner there but unfortunately it was the Christmas market on within Tarvin that evening so no food was served other than a stall outside. Free parking for people staying in the pub. Within a 15 min drive into Chester - Wouldn’t hesitate to go back. An enjoyable if not brief visit.

We had a lovely time staying at the George and dragon. The Tarvin Christmas market was on , the day of our arrival and the road was due to close from lunchtime, the landlord was very accommodating and let us check in earlier than usual,before the road closed, which was really kind. The hotel was warm and welcoming and we had a meal in the afternoon which was amazing value, good portions and really tasty. The room was clean and comfortable and the stay was made even better by the friendly staff. Breakfast was very nice, a full English breakfast set us up for a day at Chester Christmas market. I would definitely stay again in the future.

A great find in a quiet area, close to Chester, with early check in - will recommend to others.

Quiet cosy room above a pub serving great food. Always a warm welcome by the great staff. Stay here twice a year as it ticks all the tight boxes. Good car park, comfy room and great shower with reasonable Wi-Fi for the area.

Great for what we needed. Very accommodating letting us check in early as required. Good sized room, decent shower. Breakfast was excellent

The room was clean and tidy & had everything we needed. It would have been helpful we’d been advised that there was an engagement party & live band playing that night as we were staying as we were running the Delamere Forest Marathon the next morning and hoping for an early night as we had an early start. As the rooms were directly above the music there was no chance of this! The music did stop just after 11pm so not too bad!

The room was small but comfortable, plenty of parking at the property 3 of the rooms at least overlook the car park which is good for security. Unfortunately the kitchen was not open on the day which was disappointing and was not communicated prior to the booking, local eateries were limited if you didn't want to drive. Also the breakfast did not start until 8.30am which was no good when I had to be out early in the morning. Again this was not communicated prior to the booking and no compensatory discount was offered. Overall value for money wasn't great due to the lack of meals, although the room was comfortable and the staff seemed friendly

The bedroom very spacious, but sparsely furnished- no bedside tables no chest of drawers or dressing table, requires redecorating. The food on Monday evening was fine and Wednesday the breakfast was good, but no food available on Tuesdays which we were not advised until Monday.

We received a warm welcome upon arrival from Kenny and his staff, We had a day a Chester races planned and were struggling to get a taxi so Kenny stepped in to save the day and kindly took us in his car. The rooms were clean, tidy and had tea and coffee making facilities and The En Suite bathroom was well equipped and a decent size with plenty of room in the shower.The bed was very comfortable and there was no noise outside so a good nights sleep is assured. The full english breakfast is highly recommended and the service was second to none. I would highly recommend The George to anyone visiting Chester.
