From the time that I arrived to the time that I left, they really treated me as best they could, also managed to find a room on the first floor due to my health condition. Alway was extremely professional and friendly. A modest place but clean and well located. Comfortable bed, breakfast was fresh every day. I can definitely recommend it including family. Thanks a lot for the warm welcome. Def I'll be back.

This place is awesome, was there for 4 nights with my teenage girls. The breakfast, location and family run. It truly was a treat, 3rd time visiting Amsterdam and glad we found this place. Also huge plus is the 397 airport bus stops at the front door.

Location, Location, Location.......right near the bus line and all of the museums. Direct bus right to other parts of the city as well as the airport, as well as stores and restaurants. Staff is very friendly, accomodating and helpful. The breakfast room is adorable and every afternoon and evening there are cookies, chocolates and cake available any time as well as tea and coffee. The breakfast is the same every morning, but it was very good. All 18 rooms were full the week we were there and yet it was very quiet, except the sound of the street cars and buses and even though each floor has a shared bathroom and shower I never had to wait to use them. Great place to stay, but make sure you can climb stairs. Oh, there was always a bowl of oranges and apples on the stairs for the guest. What a nice gesture.

Place is basic. Bed and sink. Shower and toilet in the hall. But somehow that was OK. Not sure how to describe it. People who ran the hotel were great and the location is perfect. Steepest set of stairs I have ever seen. Not recommended for anyone with any mobility issues. 3 blocks from Vondelpark (running, biking, etc.) and a couple of blocks from the Rijks and Van Gogh Museums.

How does this a one star property?! Yes, it’s semi dorm style with a sink in the room and the bathroom and showers down the hall, BUT EXCELLENCE!!! The staff was great, provided a lovely breakfast, and easy check in/check out process. LOCATION WAS FANTASTIC. Right next to the Musemplein AND tram station for effortless traveling. I will be returning:)

The stairs, were a challenge for me. The breakfast was delightful and staff wonderful. I couldn’t have got my bag to my room without their help.

Honestly for the price and location I was expecting a rundown place probably not so clean. The location is unbeatable. I didn’t experience any noise. The place is a hidden gem, absolutely gorgeous. The steep and narrow steps? Historical! The free breakfast on such a charming room? And my single room after 4 days of backpacking at age 57 with only little time to spare to get to the museum and train station ? Unsurpassable! This is a rare finding at this price and location. Spoke to other customers about higher rooms and they were all very pleased

Small family run property just behind Rijksmuseum. First thing that greets you is a staircase that is very STEEP and covers 3 floors. No elevator!! Not for older people and hard slog with bags. The rooms are clean and good but older. No TV in room. Breakfast same every day but good. Free tea and coffee after breakfast in breakfast room. Close to museums and transporttation - bus and tram stop just outside.

The hotel is in a great location! It’s very basic and the stairs are extremely steep, but the price was worth it. Sharing a bathroom was okay, probably my least favorite part. Free breakfast was simple and nice.

A lovely and well maintained property away from the city center. The staff is polite, helpful, and diligent. The ample and tasty breakfast perfectly compliments the jaw dropping views from the dining room. The twin bed single room was superbly clean and well suited for the solo traveler. The room had a sink with plenty of mirrors, lighting, a closet, desk, and extra seating. I did not use the WiFI and the heat worked perfectly in freezing temperatures. The shared WC and shower were spotless and standard size for Amsterdam. Overall, it was a great experience!

Cozy quiet nice place perfect to unwind in Amsterdam. Looks like a boutique hotel. Fancy surroundings. Their tasty freshly made breakfast impeccably served in the living room overlooking Rijksmuseum is the best way to start the day off! Would definitely enjoy to stay again next time

It's a lovely hotel in the heart of the museum district and handy to the centre of the city. The accommodation is comfortable and the service excellent. It's not for anyone with mobility issues as there are steep staircases.

The hotel is an old hotel. In practice, this means the room was small. I expected this. The stairs up to reception are incredibly steep and wouldn't suit people with mobility issues or heavy luggage. There was no TV in the room. WIFI was "pedestrian". The big plus is the location at the centre of the museum district. That was what I wanted. Transport links were great with both trams and buses near the front door. No hotels in Amsterdam are cheap. It's an expensive city. Overall it was fine.

If you would like to stay in a characterful and quirky hotel within yards of the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum, then this is it. 'Yme'-super nice guy is the Manager and runs the place-was more than kind and helpful. This without even being asked. It is a steep climb up the stairs, which is not a problem...unless your are older and not so fit.
