When we arrived at 7:30pm, exhausted, the hotel appeared closed. We went to a restaurant with WiFi. I texted through hotels.com but received no reply. They clearly state on the listing that check in is available until 11:30pm. I also called but received a message in Lao and then English that they were unavailable and to try later. We had to find another hotel. The next day I received a text apologizing that the receptionist hadn’t read the post. They asked for my phone number, which I sent, but they never called me despite several requests via texts. Every time we walked by the hotel it was closed. I asked them to cancel the reservation and refund all four nights but haven’t heard anything since they asked for my phone number. So I guess I had to pay for 4 nights without ever entering the property, even though we were staying at a hotel very close by. I am disgusted and hope that Hotels.com will do the right thing, as I have been a loyal customer for many years.
