It was a great location, our room was spacious and clean with a king-size bed and the view from the window was gorgeous. The staff were all lovely and helpful. The breakfast and the coffee were excellent. Our only negative was that there's no lift.

The room was spacious and clean, the balcony provided a commanding view of the mountains, and the staff was incredibly helpful and delightful.

I was horrified at the condition . I had already paid but left anyway to find another room. I did find another room nearby thank goodness but was prepared to sleep in my car instead of the dirty hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE

Our stay in Obertraunerhof was great! The gentleman who checked us in was very kind and helpful and was always working to make sure guests were satisfied! The rooms were also spacious and it was not far from the train station!

Very quiet location. It’s about an hour to walk to Hallstatt but the scenery along the way to Hallstatt is gorgeous. Good breakfast! The only complaint as an Asian is that we could not find hot water to make tea the first night and breakfast did not start until 8am. As an early bird Asian, it’s inconvenient but they put the kettle at common areas on the 2nd night. :)

The room was enormous, but not very clean and so dimly lit that I had trouble reading. Desk clerk showed up at 2 PM to check me in, then disappeared until the following morning. Stairs had worn, ripped carpet. Obertraun is not a good place to stay if your goal is Hallstatt as the first boat to Hallstatt is around 11 AM and the last boat about 4 PM. It's a 5 km walk from Hallstatt to Obertraun. Sidewalks rolled up at 6 PM in Obertraun, so there is nowhere to eat dinner.

Nice price and okay breakfast. Clean and very big. Parking is limited but okay. Beautiful place to stay close to views and lovely town. Sound proof is just okay, but acceptable.

The property was older, but room and bathroom had been recently updated, and bathroom was very clean. Access to Hallstatt was easy, and cable car to 5 Fingers Overlook and Ice Cave was a 5 minute drive. Breakfast was good.

We were the only customers at the time of our stay. The young manager upgraded our room to a room on the third floor with an amazing view. There is no lift so he offered to carry my luggage to the room. He also prepared breakfast for us (two) but more than enough for ten person.The locate is a close to the train station. A good restaurant and a grocery store is near by. Everything was perfect except the weather.

Basic place clean safe. A bit dated

Do not stay at this property. 3 stars is at least one too many. Checked in during check-in time (4 pm), but no one was there to greet us. The lobby was dark, dimly lit, and front door does not appear to lock and left open at all hours. There was a key left with a piece of paper for our name. We had to climb a number of flights for our room, and on that floor was a corner of children's toys that was left out and very messy... almost in the way of the door to the room. We found a number to call for an extra towel but the staff was not friendly and took some time to bring it. When we turned the lights on, a fuse popped and all the lights went out so we had to wait a while for that to come back on. That evening, several doorbell sounds went off at various times throughout the middle of the night (2-3 am) and we could not sleep. Though we paid for two nights, we left after only one because it was so uncomfortable.

Great environment, quiet, good for us for good rest. Room is big, clean and bed mattresses are so comfortable. simple breakfast but delicious.

I love Obertraun town the most in my recent trip to Austria. Oh need to pay cash here. Beautiful and peaceful indeed. Obertraunerhof offered great breakfast, a bit long walk but if you're looking for a walking trip, it is recommended. If you want to visit Hallstatt, or if you don't want to stay in crowed place, it is recommended. You could take a boat of 10-12 EUR (depends) for round trip that you can select your own pick up time. Very cool, right? The view is awesome. Or you want to visit Hallstatt, alternative solutions are stay in Graz (hotel price is extremely cheaper) and take a train to Obertraun in the early morning, walk around the town for 1-2 hours, then take train or bus back to Hallstatt, then taking a ferry, multiple choices with better spend. For Obertran, I didn't finish the hiking to one mountain, I could not remember the name but next time when I got back there, surely I will do it. I hope the price will go lower. It is a bit expensive but because Obertrauner is closed to Hallstatt, can't complain much, love it there ^^

Located close to Hallstatt and supermarkets. It includes parking and breakfast which was good for me. Reception desk opens only for a few hours a day, so it was almost self check-in, but it was okay for me.

Wifi needs improvement.. however the staff are great, overall great value!
