I really wanted to love my stay here but the most important thing in determining a great hotel room is how you sleep. This was an issue because first of all the foam mattresses on the beds were very firm, along with a very firm foam pillow, and then one fluffy pillow per person. It was very hard to get comfortable because the mattresses were so hard. Secondly, the bed frame was literally on the ground, so the surface of the bed was probably just a little over a foot and height. This is an issue when you’re a senior citizen with bad knees, bad back, and a partially functioning hip. There was no place in the hotel description where this was mentioned otherwise I never would’ve booked it. However, I did explain to the hotel when I made the booking that we are seniors and we needed to have or would’ve liked to have had somewhat of an accessible room i.e. not have to take stairs up and down. On top of this, we were in Europe during a heat wave and the last night we stayed there was no air-conditioning. There wasn’t even a ceiling fan or any way to keep cool so a sleepless night. Not to mention that if people are walking or talking in the hallways at night, it was very loud and we were woken several times, so wow the hotel is in a quiet area of the city, and by the way, the location was great, all these things added up to not getting any sleep! The service, the breakfast, and everything else was fantastic.
