It was clean and the staff were very willing to help! Overall, we liked it. We had some trouble with the hot water (the written instructions did not match reality) but a helpful staff member came right away in person and walked us through it. The doors are a bit loud but that didn’t really bother us; it helps that there are only a few other rooms nearby. The kitchen is shared with those few other rooms, but we never had any issue with that; it is well equipped with utensils and appliances. To do laundry, you have to pay $5 to wash and $5 to dry. It’s about a 20 minute walk from the center of Galway, and about 5-10 minute walk to grocery stores.

The bad: Uncomfortable bed, felt every single spring in the mattress, bedding materials rough very itchy to the skin. Did not sleep well. FOB doesnt work properly - unable to lock door while inaide unit. A long 25min walk from Eyre Square when carrying heavy backpack. The good: clean, nice to use shared kitchen.

Great affordable accommodation in a good location- we enjoyed the easy walk to shops and central Galway. HOWEVER, the doors in here are definitely something to be improved. We were woken up multiple times during the night from people closing the very heavy fire doors and not having the common courtesy to hold the handle and gently close them themselves as we did. We also had a few instances where we had no hot water but I was more bothered by the doors. If it weren’t for the doors, this place would be good for the price.

Decent place if you’re traveling alone. Mattresses and rooms are a bit small for couples but doable. Definitely would not recommend for plus size couples

Good value. The doors are really loud no matter how gently you try to close them. The walk to city centre is on a very busy road, but the upside is there plenty of shopping close to the hostel.

Holiday at Hubble is a nice residence for students. Their website states that it is "premium student living in the center of everything." The location is excellent, within walking distance from the main attractions, and you get a room, some of them with private bath, and a shared area with a TV, a sofa, a kitchen, and dining area. The rooms are very clean and the buildings have been recently remodeled. The staff is nice and helpful. This said, Hotels.com advertises the place as an apart-hotel and for the deluxe single room en suite that I booked, Hotels.com includes a picture of a kitchen area. Under "unit information" the following highlights are included: Separate dining area Separate sitting area Heating Full-sized refrigerator/freezer Smart TV Renovated in 2024 Private bathroom Microwave The information provided by Hotels.com is deceiving. It is not an apart hotel but a student residence and what you get is neither an apartment nor the facilities of your room include refrigerator, Smart TV, dining and sitting area. You won´t get the service of a hotel since there is no cleaning of your room during your stay and not even the toilet paper is replaced. In summary, the place is nice and well-located and the staff is helpful. It´s just that hotels.com advertisement is deceiving.

This was an affordable hotel within reasonable walking distance to the downtown part of Galway. It is about a 20-25 minute walk and tolerable in good weather. There is not a bus stop close by. The room itself was essentially a dorm room. We had two beds (a full and twin) and one small attached bathroom. No toiletries are provided so remember to bring your own. There are self-service laundry facilities, which cost 4.50 Euros per cycle at the time of our visit. The staff are kind and notified me when they found that I had accidentally left something behind in the room.

This is student housing that is repurposed as hotel/hostel accommodations in the summer I guess. The building is about a 25 minute walk from the center of Galway along a busy road. My room was very clean and the bed was comfortable and warm during the chilly, rainy days I was there. The receptionist at the check in center was nice and the wifi was strong. The shared bathroom was very clean when I arrived although sharing it with (presumably) men from the other dorms meant that the toilet seat was always up when I went in. The biggest issue (for me) was that the walls are paper thin, so I heard every snore, every sneeze, every alarm clock that went off in my unit. And the doors, if not closed carefully, slam very loudly. Overall this is one step up from a hostel multi-bed dorm room.

These are student apartments rented as holiday rooms in the summer. Everything is new and spotless. There is a shared kitchen where you could fix a meal or two. Bit confusing to get to if you are using public transport as Hereford road is rather big and the actual bus stop for this place is called Terryland. But once you find it, it is actually in a quite convenient location. Grocery shops Aldi and Tesco within a short walk. The main square where the tours start from is about a 15 - 20 minutes walk away. The local bus 407 which takes you to the main square is not frequent and usually not in time. You are better off walking down. I would recommend this place if you don't mind walking

Doors are extremely loud. We had our own bathroom but on a floor where others shared. The bathroom door and entrance door were banging closed all night long till about 3 am.

Clean and inviting; staff was friendly and helpful. I messaged prior to arrival with questions and each time I had a fairly quick response and questions answered. Laundry room available. It's like a dorm room, so it's a little different from a hotel, which was fine for us. Common area has a full kitchen, TV, table/chairs, couch. No toiletries provided, including hand soap (fine for us -we had our own).

Check in was easy and the staff very helpful. My only complaint is that our room overlooked the quad and it could be very noisy in the middle of the night.

If you're looking to stay here to save money, just be aware. The place itself is just fine. However, it's a long walk or long bus ride (20+ mins) to Claddagh and other parts of Galway you're going to want to see. This resulted in me spending more money to get taxis than I would've liked to get back and forth in a more timely manner. The walls are pretty thin and you can hear your neighbors conversing easily.
