Punthill Little Bourke

The room and bathroom was spacious. The bed was comfortable. Convenient location in the middle of Chinatown if you're ok with walking around. The kitchen and bathroom were clean. Staff were helpful and communicative regarding check-in and storing my bags when I didn't have the room. On public holidays the reception hours are limited to 0900-1700, but after hours check in works. Quite a few downsides though. The studios face a laneway used by garbage trucks around sunrise and the noise seeps though the doors and windows. The decor, sofa, carpet, bathroom fittings, and walls were definitely showing their age in terms of design, dirt, wear and tear. It looked they were in the process of renovating their common areas, a process which I hope would extend to the rooms. The crockery was mismatching and chipped. The fridge also wasn't cold enough while the freezer compartment was just a little below freezing. I would suggest not leaving unfinished food out in the open and checking if the fridge is sufficiently cold before storing perishables, just in case.

The only good thing about our stay was the reception staff. Although they were sympathetic to our room condition complaints they were unable/ unwilling to offer us a change of accommodation

Good location

Affordable for the CBD. Rooms are dating but no issues. It’s a good part of town generally, but the square out the front does get a bit of vagrancy.

I had a lovely spacious room, but it lacked some basic amenities like a box of tissues, a face washer, the shower was over the bath and I couldn't change the water over from the bath taps to the shower head. On Tuesday morning I was a awoken by a lot of noise, and later when I went to check out discovered that since last night all the carpet had been removed in the corridor outside my room. My shoes practically stuck to the exposed sticky floor beneath it. I really wondered why they put me in that room if work was going to be done immediately adjacent to my door. The staff apologised when I mentioned it on checking out, but it was too late by then. Best feature of the property is the location, in the heart of Chinatown and close to theatres. Can be a bit noisy if you're put in a room on the first couple of floors (I was just one floor up from the street).

Location was great, the outside area is well lit at night. Close to many restaurants as well as theater. The apartment was great, even had a stackable washer dryer, we were able to do laundry.

Clean , jacuzzi , spacious . Would stay again .

The room was in quite poor condition and in need of renovation, peeling paint, stained walls in bathroom, chipped tile flooring, view from the window was not good as rubbish was piled up around the waste bins. There might be plans to renovation, once this has happened and if it is the same standard as other Punthills it could be good.

Good location and just wha was needed

The rooms need to be upgraded, cleanliness is average and could have been better! The staff however are fantastic and very accomodating!

Staff were excellent and very responsive to requests

There’s a slight hick up with the room the hotel flooded but puntHill staff were really good and got us another apartment elsewhere in Melbourne. Which was Victoria Market hotel another one Any chains. And the staff are very friendly there as well so it was a very good weekend.

I have mixed feelings on this stay. The floor was having the hall way renovated so 24/7 loud drier fans ran, so loud. The room did not look anything like the lovely light bright one pictured when booking on this site. It was dark and dingey. Deck was filthy and smokers had well used the room, it stunk. Has a kitchen but microwave has lost all its internal peel so metal exposed, no dishwasher, grease all around sink, no oven just a hob. Your survey says pool, never found that, and your site says room service, that doesn't exist. Staff are lovely, place is clean, bed is comfortable, location is great. It just is badly represented on this site. I do not feel I got what I paid for.

Comfy bed. Clean. Had a damp smell but had people working on it with dryers in the hallways. Friendly staff. Would stay again good price

Basics were not always available such as tea/coffee/sugar/milk. Room is suffering from a lack of power points Hot water fluctuated wildly and could not get a consistent temperature. Ironing board and iron both faulty with arts broken. No hot water night before I was due to check out!

Everyone was great, the room was clean but i think the bathroom needs a upgrade as having a shower in the bath i thought that style went out years ago.as for the price a bit steep. thank you Ray Randall.

the staff were all awesome! super helpful and accomodating. love that the tv had streaming services on it, all the ammenities were great, room was clean and presentable too. the bathroom door didn’t shut fully but other than that this hotel is great and affordable!

A bit dirty and couldn’t get the shower to work, had to have a bath instead.
