Staff was not at all helpful for early check in even though there were few check outs happened in front of me. Sent a message to the hotel a week earlier that my flight will be in prior to the check in time (3pm local time) still no consideration. Buffet that I opted in was good so was 2 stars.

Bed was hard like a brick, very uncomfortable, shower had x2 shower heads - seemed to be an old one that was still installed and dripping was very weird, shower also had no hot water in the morning, the hotel is pretty outdated but in a good area, literally a minute to the Queen Victoria markets and a beautiful park across the road. The staff we saw on checkout were so friendly and courteous and the cleaners do a great job of keeping a pretty outdated hotel looking nice and clean. Would stay again for a short stay but wouldn’t recommend a long term stay.

I recently stayed at Flagstaff Gardens Hotel Melbourne and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience with their valet parking service. I paid $65 for valet parking, which I was completely fine with — I understand that’s their standard charge. However, the service was extremely poor. When I requested my car, I was told it would be ready in 5 minutes. I ended up waiting 25 minutes and the car still wasn’t there. When I asked again how much longer it would take, they simply said, “Sorry, we forgot.” I couldn’t believe it. After that, I had to wait another 20 minutes. In total, they wasted almost an hour of my time. Because of this delay, I missed a specialist appointment that I had travelled 5 hours to attend. This was very important to me, and the lack of professionalism and care from the valet team caused serious inconvenience. Charging $65 for valet is fine — but the service should at least be organised and reliable. Very disappointing experience.

Condition of room was clean and tidy However front counter staff were not helpful at the initial introduction. We were not told how to use the elevators We were not told at breakfast that we could get our own. We sat there for a good 10 minutes before we got up because we saw others doing the same thing. The bathroom shower did not have a proper door on it just a small glass flap Which had no purpose Also made the toilet wet because of flashback when having a shower.
