Quite but longvdrive from the airport. Excellent for relaxation.

The atmosphere was most definitely relaxing. Mature adults remembering to be child-like. The beaches were clean and pools sparkling. The excellence club bar was quite attentive and served very refreshing drinks!

I enjoyed my stay at Excellence. The property is beautiful and the food was AMAZING. I will say that the property may need some updates. I stayed in a swim up room, and there were certain times of the day when the toilet wouldn't flush, and my last day there the air conditioning unit wasn't working in my room. Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Absolutely stunning resort. This is a true luxury resort. It is quiet and relaxing, not a party resort. The food is incredible. The gym is great. Pilates and yoga classes are available which is amazing. Beautiful running routes which includes a nature park full of birds. The pools are beautiful. I wish they had more craft cocktails but otherwise everything at this resort is top tier.

We had a remarkable stay at Excellence Punta Cana! From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was top tier. We were welcomed with champagne, warm smiles, and refreshing cold towels, assisted with our luggage, and treated to a seamless check-in experience. The concierge team went above and beyond to make my husband’s 50th birthday celebration unforgettable – from a custom cake to an amazing hibachi dinner, every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. The entertainment was fantastic – the DJ kept the energy up and the Michael Jackson tribute was hands down our favorite performance. We loved the pool activities, always having fresh towels available, and the convenience of poolside food and drinks. The hotel itself was immaculately kept, spacious, and very safe. The food was top notch, especially at The Kitchen, where we enjoyed a great variety of delicious dishes, including authentic Dominican flavors. Every cook and wait staff member greeted us with warmth, often with hugs and big smiles, and made sure our dining experiences were wonderful. Our room was always spotless thanks to the hardworking cleaning staff, who kept fresh towels, toiletries, bottled water, and a fully stocked refrigerator ready for us. We truly had everything we needed. Excellence Punta Cana is now our new favorite home away from home! The service was truly excellent, and we can’t wait to visit again. We’ve already started recommending it to everyone we know – it’s a must-book destination.

The staff overall was friendly, and one person in particular went out of his way to be genuinely helpful. However, the biggest disappointment was the food. The dining experience was horrible, poor quality, little variety, and most meals tasted reheated rather than fresh. At a Dominican resort, guests expect to enjoy authentic local cuisine, yet there was only one “Dominican Night,” the only time traditional food was served. Another frustration was the strict dress code in every restaurant. Even for breakfast and lunch, men were required to wear sleeves, which feels unreasonable on a Caribbean vacation where comfort should come first. No one wants to worry about packing special shirts just to eat a casual meal in the heat. Despite tipping generously (about $200 over 5 days/4 nights), service was inconsistent. While the property itself was clean and the beach beautiful, with seaweed cleared daily, the overall experience was underwhelming. As an adults-only resort, we also expected more nightlife. Though a few shows were nice, everything ended by 11 pm, and there was no late-night club, music, or dancing to enjoy Dominican culture. This left evenings flat and lacking energy. Overall, while the facilities and beach were lovely, the poor food, inconsistent service, unnecessary dress restrictions, limited cultural offerings, and lack of adult-oriented entertainment made the stay disappointing and far below what should be expected from an all-inclusive resort.

Upon check in, the room had very poor air conditioning. The humidity was awful. We complained several times. After several hours, staff finally conceded that there was an issue. They brought a fan and de-humidifier. It did help but was not a fix. We were eventually moved the next day. Staff gave us a couples massage for trouble. The rest of time here was pretty good. Staff was very attentive! Pools were fantastic. We would return and try again!

We thought the property was absolutely lovely. The staff could not have been nicer. We had a great stay. The only thing I would say is to be prepared because the food is truly awful. My husband and I were both thoroughly disappointed in the food options and quality.

Excellent! This was one of the best getaways my husband and I have ever had. We had a free upgrade to an ocean view room when we arrived on the ‘Club Excellence”side. I highly recommend paying the extra to be a club excellence member during your stay. You have access to the speciality restaurant ‘Magna’ which served Tomahawk steaks while we there. Absolutely delicious food throughout the resort!!! FYI: If you want top shelf, you have to ask for it because it’s literally not visible on the shelf. & I recommend bringing cash to tip your servers because they go above and beyond. Everything about this place was geared to making our stay phenomenal! We will be back!
