Fairmont St Andrews

It was very peaceful and spacious and the views were lovely. The staff were also friendly and helpful. Overall, we highly recommend this rejuvenating experience.

The restaurants in the hotel look primarily to an internal patio that has no Ocean views. Notwithstanding that the site where the hotels sits in has a wonderful Ocean view. A great view was wasted by the architect that designed the hotel.

Staff was exceptional. Harri met us at the driveway and couldn’t have been any nicer or helpful. Jamie at concierge was delightful and informative. All the staff were professional

The staff at this hotel was simply outstanding

This was an ideal spot to play golf at st Andrew's and the surrounding vicinity!

Whilst a very popular hotel for keen golfers, for a couple looking for a more luxurious stay for both birthdays we were quite disappointed. This was due to various reasons. Firstly the room had air con but appeared to have been switched off completely so couldn’t use. The welcome package we were meant to get due to an error in our booking was 6 chocolates… which isn’t exactly overly special for my partners 40th. The hotel is exceptionally overpriced for the quality. The rooms are fine but nowhere near over £400 for what we received for one night. Whilst it included breakfast, the hotel was slightly dated, especially from the exterior and in the rooms - would have expected much more. Also, we ate at the clubhouse bar and grill and were disappointed in the food. Whilst our lobster and goats cheese starters were lovely, the lemon sole I ordered came with the bones still intact. Whilst this is usual for other places, it doesn’t state it on the menu and I was never informed it would be the case by the waiter. In addition, I wasn’t provided with a fish knife to descale, so would have thought otherwise. I asked for it to be descaled and it came back mostly bone free, but still had to pick out bones from my mouth. The sides were also disappointing- 3 carrots for £7 and a handful of chips for £7, considering the lemon sole came with nothing and the peppercorn sauce was an extra for the fillet steak. Overall, I would not rush back in a hurry.

I stay at the Fairmont frequently and it’s the second time this month, the whole hotel is 10/10 couldn’t rate the hotel or staff higher, especially the hotel bar staff!. However it was my first time eating in the Italian restaurant and I couldn’t rate it lower, the service was shocking, I had to eventually request my main meals after over an hour as my son was getting tired, could see others unhappy and complaining. Food wasn’t good! I did mention when paying but the girl couldn’t have cared less, very much that’s a shame, sign her please. It massively let the hotel down as it’s somewhere I love going and have multiple other stays planned for the year. Stay clear of the restaurant!

Management unwilling to reverse an unfair charge. We won't go back.

Fantastic hotel in an amazing location. A true 5 star experience.

Very helpful staff. I have severe food allergies and was very happy I could have anything I wanted cooked to suit me. Room was very clean and large. Would recommend.

Breakfast very good, staff very good at breakfast , housekeeping very poor, too many noisy dogs, rooms made up after 5pm - not good

Really stunning surroundings. Rooms and some public areas are very tired. Staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming. Poor food choices and extortionate prices. A pint of Moretti £8.50!! Breakfast was good with variety and quality ingredients and staff coped well with the volume of guests due to the holidays

Overall a very good stay. Food was excellent and staff were extremely attentive. Used the spa facilities which were first class and also had some treatments. Look forward to returning.

We have stayed at this hotel several times in recent years. Tinged with slight disappointment! We really enjoy staying at this hotel and the staff are excellent. However, our rooms made us question the price as we felt the rooms were not up to the standard we expected from a five star hotel.

The staff is fantastic

Beautiful surrounding property and views of the sea. The rooms are old and could’ve been cleaner. Went to the spa in the evening to use the facilities and it was extremely dirty and unkept. Didn't even attempt to find the sauna it was so dirty in the locker room which was very unlike other Fairmonts i’ve stayed at.
