The heating in my room failed - but I was given a portable heater at once. Excellent shower - first class!

We chose NH Hamburg Altona because it had good reviews, and was well located on a major bus route that links to the S-Bahn (if you have a car, parking is available onsite for a fee). Front desk service was fast and efficient, and the room, although not particularly exciting, was spacious and clean. if you would like to keep your stay green, housekeeping provides free bar drink vouchers if you defer your room cleaning. Although we did not use the restaurant, it appeared to offer a good selection of breakfast items. If you need to check in early, or check out late, the front desk provides a secure room for storing your luggage.

The property itself was great. Very modern, clean and sufficiently equipped rooms. Staff were friendly and funny. The little self service shop by the door was a cute little bonus. However the hotel is let down by the lack of things to do in the surrounding area. Unless you drive or use public transport it’s not the best for walking. Overall a great hotel but inconvenient area.

From the moment I stepped in to the lobby, to the moment I left, I was made to feel like a valued guest. I love how the hotel had free drinks and ice creams in the lobby as you waited for check in. The greeting at front desk was warm, friendly and genuine – (annoyingly, I can't remember her name); but she said I was in time for the sauna and if I wanted to use it in the morning she was sure they could open it for me. The room was impeccably clean, the bed was super-comfy, it was so quiet and the shower was hot and powerful. Also amazing value for money at less that 100 euros. Highly recommended.

Handy for short bus ride to the Centre, room spacious , very clean and well appointed and very good parking in the hotels underground parking

Nice place too stay. Front desk staff was great and Sarah and Bea at the bar were phenomenal. Dinner was nice but we didn't have the breakfast buffet although I did look at the food and there was a nice selection of food. Only reason I didn't rate excellent across the board is because the beds are a little hard for our liking but they are typical German beds with duvets.

Bit like a premier inn. No soap just plastic dispensers for shower and sink which I really dislike. There was a sharp lump on the laminate floor too. Fruit in reception a nice touch. Scandalous price 19 euro for breakfast when all I want is a cup of tea and couple of slices of toast. We didn’t bother paying for it. It worked out with breakfast elsewhere and lunch and a coffee cheaper than breakfast.

During COVID the option to not clean the room in order to get some free drinks should not be accepted!
