The entrance and lobby was very enticing. The second we left and went to the floor where our room was located, it felt like we walked into a motel. Outdated rugs, poor lighting. Our room was supposed to be a rooms that slept 3. We walked into a room with a double bed and cot right next to the the double bed, leaving barely any walking room. We didn’t have room for our luggage, everything felt like it was in the way. The rooms are very small, the mattress was very uncomfortable and we the a/c was barely pumping cold air. The bathroom seemed to be the only updated room, however the shower was small, so if you’re not small figured, it’ll be challenging. We were in Venice for one night and didn’t want to ruin our short time there with the long list of dissatisfaction. As someone that travels 50% of the year, I can assure you the amount of money spent for one night was not worth it.

We had a wonderful stay and wish we could have stayed longer. Wonderful staff, helpful and courteous. We had an early travel day and they even packed us a boxed breakfast for the road! It was a nice detail that we were thankful for once we caught our train! ❤️🇮🇹

私達はホテル本館の裏側にある別館に通され 、そこは裏口のようなドアを開けて部屋に入るので、ホテルではなくアパートメントホテルを予約したような貧しい気分になった。部屋は２つの寝室があり広かったけど、全体的に古くて、排水溝のような臭いが部屋に充満していた。おまけに、エアコンの調子が悪く、寝苦しい夜を過ごさなければならなかった。翌日、レセプションでエアコンの調子を告げると、部屋を交換してくれたが、新しい部屋の鍵を渡されただけで、特に謝罪もなかった。普通の四つ星ホテルなら、客の荷物を新しい部屋に運んでくれるが、そのような対応は全くなく、自分たちで全ての荷物を運んだ。みなさんがレビューで書いている通り、サービスや施設に関して、とても四つ星ホテルのレベルではないです。　　　

Utterly awful hotel, worst I have ever stayed in. Staff so rude and unhelpful

The property was just outside the San Marco square. A quick walk to several of the attractions and located near lots of shops.

We only stayed for one night and there was no water. We couldn’t even wash our hands.

Outstanding property. We stayed three nights. We had a small issue with water the first day but the hotel staff was on top of it and made everything right. Will definitely stay there again.

There was absolutely no running water the time we arrived. The receptionists were arrogant and non communicative. Totally NOT recommended. Luckily Expedia customer service redirected us to another hotel.

Really old beds

Great location but the inside looked terrible. The rooms are tiny and full of super old/ worn looking furniture and bedding. Looks nothing like what the pictures show

The hotel was really good, great location to everything one needs to do in Venice. The only thing is that it is slightly older and could do with a little updating but honestly it did the job it needed too. The staff were lovely, we had no issues during our stay here at all. Would definitely come back.

We liked pretty much everything about this hotel, with one minor exception: the elevators. We needed to take two elevators and some stairs to reach our suite. But it was fun in the end.

From the moment we arrived at the Royal Marco Hotel, everything exceeded our expectations. The location is unbeatable—tucked away just far enough from the crowds to offer peace and quiet, yet steps from all the iconic sights of Venice. Waking up to views of the canals and walking out into the heart of the city was a dream. What truly set this hotel apart, however, was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful with local recommendations and planning. They made navigating Venice so much easier and added a personal touch to our stay that we deeply appreciated. The hotel itself was immaculate—beautifully maintained, with charming details throughout that reflect the elegance and history of Venice. Our room was comfortable, quiet, and well-appointed, making it easy to relax after long days of sightseeing. In every way, the Royal Marco Hotel made our trip to Venice unforgettable. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city and will definitely stay here again in the future.

We were given a room on the very top floor, it was very small and tired, it was in need of a lick of paint. Saying that it was clean and air conditioned which was a perfect escape for the heat when we needed it, so was absolutely fine for what we required as we spent next to no time in the hotel except to sleep.

This property was just ok. We didn’t find the employees to be very helpful. The location was good but there wasn’t anything overly fantastic about it. The beds and pillows were hard and the shower head was broken and wouldn’t stay in place.
