Great stay, lovely room and the bed was really comfortable. Would definitely come back

Great location, good vibe, amazing breakfast

The standard room was fine, the only thing was that the shower wasn't very clean. There was a lot of black build up in the shower head, which was off putting. However, for the price the rest of the room was fine. There also was only one working elevator so there was often a long wait for that.

Nice hotel but showing need of refurb

The room we stayed was great, it was clean and it was a great bright and open room. Will stay here again for sure.

Extremely disappointed with the overall quality of the room. The room was a classic and had a number of stains all over the carpet, stains and marks all over the walls. In addition to this the sink was heavily cracked in the bathroom and we felt it was not very well maintained. Furthermore the desk was damaged and aesthetically look horrendous. This is a massive disappointment as it was for a special occasion and we left feeling that we will not be staying in The Alan again. I am more than willing to discuss this with the hotel chain at a higher level.

Trendy & central, very convenient for all things needed in Manchester

The entrance area is nice and modern and impressive. However the rooms are very dated, they are desperate for a bit of a glow up. One socket on one side of the bed and nothing on the other. Bathroom was clean but again needs some TLC. it’s a shame as it’s a lovely building but there is better in Manchester for the same money

They were over booked and we got upgraded to the signature room that was very nice of them . Tried to book for another night but sold out very popular hotel . Will be coming back again

Really good value for money! Close to city centre and good quality room with complimentary things e.g. tea, coffee, fridge, iron etc…

First time staying in Manchester and first time at the "The Alan" in both cases it will not be the last. Fantastic hotel with great rooms, friendly staff (Jeff) and really good breakfast. Quality bed, quality towels and simple layout to the room. Staff were amazing and very helpful and the location of the hotel could not be better for exploring Manchester.

Lovely lobby, but feel the rooms don’t match the same standard as the lobby area. Although the rooms were nice & clean, they had the feel of being “spruced up” from something more dated. There were no usb charging ports at all which is something you would expect in this standard of hotel. Breakfast was really good, very professional & lots of choice!

Stayed here twice before & although staff & location are great, we probably wont be back. Originally allocated a room on 4th floor which was dreadful. Looked and felt like a very dated travelodge room .. black thick mold around tiles & bath seals, light switches revolting, pokey & claustrophobic. Husband spoke to reception & tbf we were moved and upgraded to a much nicer room... so I hate to nit pick, but the exposed metal ducting made very load noises all night, there was very load music coming from somewhere so it was difficult to sleep. An hour into going to bed someone was knocking on our door... The room itself was large, industrial chic style, bed was comfy. Large shower but this was badly designed as the screen was useless and water went everywhere. No plug socket near mirror so difficult to get ready.

Good value ,pleasant stay.

No hot water during our whole stay despite reporting it early on. Shower didn’t drain so it leaked into the toilet room. Fire alarm went off at 6/7am in the morning. Just a pretty poor experience.
