Hole in bathroom door, bathroom in terrible state, hotel poorly situated

Cheap and cheerful hotel, did what it says on the tin.

Perfect place to stay over few nights. Not too expensive and clean.

Relatively easy to find on outskirts of Caen. No evening meals only breakfasts. There's an Aldi just across the road or a McDonald's, 25 min walk or drive for anything else. Perfectly adequate for an overnight stop. Decent on site parking.

This is an older hotel and so felt a little tired but was fine for a one night stop We were catching the early morning ferry back to the UK and so the location of the hotel was perfect. The early morning drive to the ferry only took about 20 mins, great.

A very tired hotel! All Decoration including painted concrete walls , curtains and carpets could do with renewal. Staff were extremely hospitable. Beds and bedding were very clean which is very important. Location very noisy when windows are open.

Basic hotel but very affordable for our budget. There is a McDonald's across the street and easy access to the freeway. Breakfast is 12 Euros which is not cheap for what you get. U need a car for this hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Its a good base to explore Normandy without staying at an expensive hotel closer to the D Day Beaches. There is a Lidl a short distance away. I would stay here again if I have a vehicle.

L'hôtel est situé près d'un supermarché, de plusieurs boulangeries, de station essence, etc. L'hôtel est facile à trouver. Mais il y a des choses décevantes. Tout d'abord, sur les photos des chambres, on peut voir une bouilloire avec des tasses, mais en fait ce n'est pas le cas. Il n'y a pas de plateau de courtoisie dans les chambres. Le lit était assez confortable. Mais la propreté laisse à désirer. Par exemple, il y a des oreillers supplémentaires en haut de l'armoire. L'un des oreillers était sans taie, jaune et sentait mauvais et l'autre avait une taie mais avait une odeur. Les chambres ont besoin d'être rénovées et modernisées. Mais c'était pratique de loger dans cet hôtel en raison de son emplacement.

Very convenient and close to ring road for travelling around.Supermarkets and eateries close by.Very good hot and cold breakfast,clean room,decent shower etc.Only negative was that attached restaurant was closed for refurb.which was unexpected and very annoying.

Hotel was OK, but needs work to bring it up to date. Shabby and worn is best way to describe it. No lift. Dark in parts and dreary. Carpets unclean and unhygienic, need to be changed to wooden floors. Grouting on bathroom tiles needs replacing and shower old and doors need deep clean or replacing. Decor old and dull, with many holes the the walls. However, beds were clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities provided. Reception friendly and helpful.

The hotel is a little tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. In saying that, it was practical although I found the automated key card system annoying and the digital entry system baffling as it took ages before I worked out the system. All these grate when you have been travelling for a long time, tired and in need of your bed. Sadly it doesn't improve the service aspect of your stay.

On arrival I was not told that there was not restaurant throughout the whole of the weekend. I had no car, and it is miles from Caen. I was told there is a McDonald and a Chinese restaurant over the road - it turned out that the Chinese restaurant was closed until 7 Aug (over a month after I had left!). If I had known that the restaurant was shut I would not have booked - I do not use UberEats (the answer I was told when I complained on leaving!) and my French is not good enough to book a taxi and try what I could find in Caen. On Monday I wanted a beer at 6pm and was told that the bar did not belong to the hotel so they could not sell me one until it opened at 7pm! Overall - the hotel was clean but not great - little / no availability of disinfectant cleaner for hands etc. Nothing at all in the room in terms of disinfectant. There was a kettle in the room - that did not fit in the sink so water spilled out when trying to fill it. There were no cups or coffee / tea - this was only available from the reception area - which I had to find for myself. When my colleague arrived late on Sunday he had to log himself in via key pad but had no access to the coffee / cups until the next morning! Why not leave a set in the room! The food in the restaurant was not good - over seasoned, poor quality, not hot and not clean crockery e.g. most breakfast cutlery was not clean from dishwasher or glasses. Overall very poor and we will not book here again.

Front desk lady very helpful, but bathroom was clearly not fully cleaned (major item left out, though rest was fairly clean).. Hotel near highway, so noise prevented window from being left open at night.

Excellent value and wonderful breakfast. Room fine but very hot. Easily accessible from ring road.

Comfortable bed, spotless linen. I was at front of hotel and despite a busy road outside - I did not hear the traffic. If you had the window open it may have been audible. But a flat roof outside so not safe to leave window open. Clean shower and bathroom.

good location great for parking restuarants across road

Perfect location for getting off ferry from Portsmouth and needing a bed before long drive the next day. Rooms perfectly comfortable. Breakfast wonderful with loads of choice. Definitely worth paying extra for the breakfast.

Breakfast was on the high side

A one night stay after the ferry crossing from Portsmouth. Good hotel, handy for ferryport and all necessary requirements met, ie; clean room, comfortable bed, car park, wi-fi. Because the ferry was late arriving it meant that the hotel would be closed by the time we arrived. I e-mailed the hotel and explained the situation and by return had a reply giving me instructions about how to access the hotel with a code through the night entrance, together with information about our room number and the key - all good. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
