good and cheap place to stay in the center.........

The staff at Hostal America were all very friendly and helpful. Although I had to wait a few hours for my room as I arrived early morning, I was able to have breakfast and sit in the living room. The location was close to the train and downtown and a nice walk. The only think that I might say was a little disappointing was the hot water, it kept going cold but I am not sure if it was my not being able to adjust the taps correctly, but it did come on intermittently. Aside from that minor issue it is a nice, clean, comfortable property.

Everything was ok, There was not hot water for the shower. The place is well located.

The day desk clerk spoke good English and was very helpful about telling me how to get to the places I needed to go.

Very quiet and walking distance to shopping and train.

Good for a night. About 30 mins from airport. Good breakfast

Good cheap place near Plaza de Armas. The are is very run down though, with much better areas around Bellavista and Santa Lucia. The shower was awful and basically unusable. The water was cold and the shower head was broken. Breakfast was free but very basic with toast and cereal. Only powdered milk was provided.

Even for a hostel, was no good. The staff were all perverts.

Nice hotel very close to central Santiago. The only downside was that the location of the hotel was displayed incorrectly on google maps, trivago and the Expedia website. Considering that my reason for picking the hotel was "is close to the bus station because I've just had a 18 hour bus ride which was delayed by 3 hours and my bank card isn't working" this was not ideal! Other than that everything was good. The address provided in the email was correct (compañía de Jesús rather than compañía). WiFi broke at around midnight but was fixed by the morning (I didn't ask anyone to fix anything)

perfect budget accommodation – it made a good base for me to come back to after whole days outside exploring the city, or when I just need a place to rest after and before flights

The staff friendly and helpful. It is a good value place to stay. The neighborhood is not the high price area, however nice sidewalk cafes and restaurants close by. The only minor problems were the beds to soft and the barking watch dog next store in the construction site.

In the hostel is good possibilities to make own food. Grocery is very near, just across the street. Unfortunately the staff is unfriendly and did not have will to serve the customers. TVs is very poor in the rooms and common places. For example in the common living room TV has green picture. In the rooms has no airconditiones, only fan. Shower in our room was in very poor condition.

Next to a busy road. No Air Con. Had to open a window to get fresh air. At night, it was noisy. Hard to sleep. Room was smelly. Floor was dirty. Neighbourhood is fully of graffiti.

The only big negative is that the photos of the rooms does not match the dormitory-style that we experienced. We really only wanted a low cost one-night stay for a connecting flight, so it was perfect. The beds were very comfortable - only singles and bunks and crammed into long room. The bedding was lovely and warm and very clean. The shower was so lovely and hot - could have stayed in it for hours. But this is not in any way luxurious. For what we needed it was well worth it and a great price. It was within walking distance of plaza's, restaurants, craft market, castle, across the road from the supermarket. We could cook a lovely home-style meal in their kitchen - great. It is basic, and just what we needed. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. And we don't speak Spanish. I am well past the age of student or backpacker style accommodations, however, I managed to enjoy my brief stay there, as it catered to all my needs for such a brief stayover for a sports team.

Camas agradáveis e boa localização perto do metrô, mas a ducha de banho é ou muito quente ou gelada.

Según la página pagaba menos, al llegar cobraron iva, y carisimo para 2 camas que se movían y sonaban y además pequeña, lejos lo peor el baño, ya que era compartido y teníamos que esperar mucho para ocuparlo, 0 confianza.

No fue buena mucha calor en la habitacion y mucho boche exterior, tampoco se nos aviso que disponian de ventiladores para soportar el calor, tuvimos que dormir con las ventanas abiertas pero el boche era imposible dormir
