Amazing stay

Had a problem with noise from street and twice in the middle of night from hotel guests yelling and slamming their door across the hall. Desk alerted but noise was resumed later.

Staff were all ni e and accommodating. Restaurant was excellent as well. Plus a perfect location.

The room was clean. We had a problem with the front desk staff and manager. They gave us a hard time because my Expedia confirmation had my married last name but the ID I have has my maiden name. Every other ID has my married last name. Apparently Montreal states that both need to match. That’s fine, but if I provide a confirmation number and I show you my Visa with the matching last name and they have taken my money in advance, why are you not allowing me to check in. Then you don’t provide a solution until I ask you what can I do. It was an aggravating situation at 10:30 at night after travelling for 7 hours by car.

Only one complaint but it's a big one and I want to warn others because this is a notorious problem that hotels need to stop doing. Reserved a room with two "queen" beds, officially sleeps 4. They were not queen beds. They were full sized. There were three of us and I cannot share a full sized bed. It took a bit of haggling before they switched us to a king with a sofabed without me having to go through Expedia because I "booked with a third party" or them charging me extra, but they ultimately made the switch for me. The rest of the stay was lovely- room was very nice and spacious. Location was optimal (we walked to old Montreal every day, sometimes more than once), indoor rooftop pool and hot tub were a wonderful bonus and open 7-11. Would stay again.
