I hadn't been to the Keys in about 40years; Booking a room at the Pelican Cottages was a lucky find! Being able to stroll down to the dock was a treat for early am coffee or a happy hour moment was lovely and the colorful Adirondack chairs made for a good sit waterside. Our room was comfy, but next time I will make sure we have a little kitchenette and we are a bit closer to the water. The staff was great; friendly check in girls; ladies tidying the rooms and the ground keepers were lovely - they would take time to converse and share info about local happenings. Only 2 downsides - the Wi-fi access was a bit of a pain as we had to continually log in and at we were bumped out while online. There are kayaks available which is a bonus - but they need to re-vamp the seats in the kayaks as they are messed up. Water is calm - you can snorkel if inclined, but not a lot of interesting fish to see . Some folks were fishing dockside, but didn't look like they were catching keepers. Overall - good experience though- we would return!

The beach front is by far the best part of the hotel. Plenty of shade on the beach. Free kayaks. There are three docks on the property which is a great place for sunset and stars. Room was great. Clean and beds very comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location is close to restaurants and various store. Also close to key Largo community center (YMCA) which is great for liesurely walks. I highly recommend.

While the accommodation was basic, it was clean and comfortable. The AC units were a bit noisy but worked well and were very necessary due to the heat and humidity during a Keys fall! The location could not have been better - superb views over the Gulf of Mexico and spectacular sunsets. I am sure there are more sumptuous hotels but the Pelican was well worth trying.

Staff was very accommodating, We were there for our 48th anniversary. Asked to change reservation to a beach front cottage. They were very accommodating moved us to a beach front cottage, king size bed full kitchen. They gave us a bottle of wine to celebrate. Room change was easy no hassle

We got the smallest room available on the property but it felt like the best experience we could get. Friendly, helpful staff, great beach nice property convenient location. All around great spot.

Clean. Dated. Blinds don’t work. No elevator to 2nd floor. Pier for fishing was nice but I wouldn’t stay here again.

everything was excellent

Check in was simple! Cottage is amazing, clean and beds are super comfortable. Bonus is the view and activities available. Even though we were checking out they offered us to still use the kayaks before we left. Definitely would stay here again!

We were able to book our room as we were travelling down the Keys, and the staff very nice and helpful. Once we park our rental car, we were able to walk to restaurants and entertainment and other needed businesses. The beach and dock area was very clean and enjoyable. Check out was easy and overall it was a very pleasant experience.

The beach offers a delightful experience with excellent amenities, including a hammock, lounge chairs, kayaks, and ample snorkeling areas. The water's clarity is exceptional. Its convenient location provides easy access to various dining options, shopping venues, and essential stores like Walgreens and Publix. Observing the sunset from one of the three available docks is a truly memorable experience. This romantic and serene location provides an ideal retreat, eliminating the need to venture elsewhere. We anticipate a return visit.

Nice and clean cottage

Our cottage was old school Florida charm which is exactly what I was looking for! The property had a nice little beach with loungers and umbrellas. The docks had adirondak chairs perfect for enjoying coffee in the morning and watching the sunset in the evening. I would definitely recommend this property!

Great stay. Only negative was WiFi did not work inside room. Had to sit on porch to check emails.

The lock on the door was not a bolt lock. the blinds did not work in the room, so they either had to be kept open or shut the whole time.

Really liked this property… we stayed in room 111… kinda felt like we were at a private camp… they had their own sandy beach area with docks to park your boat if you had one… nice swimming area and kayaks to use… plenty of lounge chairs and shade covers… several restaurants in walking distance… I would recommend Snooks for dinner or lunch its a 5 minute walk…
