Clean, comfortable and accommodating. A welcome respite from chain hotels. A delicious breakfast, and very close to town.

Kimberley is lovely and the breakfast and parking being included is great. 5 stars!! But… Room 4 has the worst bathroom, although clean, freshly decorated etc, it is a corridor with a tiny shower. I told Kimberley - and I am sure she will attend to it - this was the worst housekeeping I have ever had - I stayed four days and not once was the room serviced properly. Bed never made, bins not emptied on occasion and tea bags/milk/water not topped up. Such a shame as this is a really nice place. This review could be all ‘5’s if I had stayed in a different room and housekeeping had matched the rest of the experience. I still intend to return there, despite the above, because it is a great base for time in Christchurch and Kimberley is a great host.

This is my second time at this hotel. I enjoyed the old-world charm and the rooms in the newer buildings, the cleanliness of the place and the impeccable bathrooms, and also the ability to walk to the city center. The only downside is the noise from the heat pumps in the other rooms at night (I'm turning mine off), although I got used to it the second night.

Great location in Christchurch. Very walkable and transport options at the door and onsite parking! The breakfast was delicious and the property managers super friendly and helpful. We were glad we chose to stay here rather than a big hotel... a very personal experience.

Centrally located with onsite parking was very convenient. The room was lovely in the historic building housing this b&b. The owners made check in a breeze and the breakfast was plentiful, delicious and a wonderful experience meeting other guests. Definitely recommend!!

Stayed in the front room of the B&B (No 1). Nice location close to the Art Gallery, and not too far to walk into the CBD. Room was good, fitted out as a disabled room, which may or may not be a preference. Staff were friendly and allowed us to store our baggage both before and after the stay for flights, however required a phone call as they hadn't replied to two emails. The breakfast was good, options both continental and cooked. Unfortunately there is construction going on next door, from around 7-4 so noise from there. However the front desk is right outside the door, and the window opens on to the driveway, so there is very little feeling of privacy, and you could hear conversations quite clearly. We requested a change of room but unfortunately it was not available. Information in the room folder dated from 2012, so needs an update. A different room may have been a different experience.

This historic B&B exudes charm. Our room was very large & comfortable. Areas of the facility could use more cleaning. Carpets in the lobby are worn & dirty. Not a good first impression. The bathroom is dated, but serviceable. Lots of hot water. Excellent breakfast. Parking is very limited out front. There is a building under major renovation next door. The B&B was also having work done when we arrived, with scaffolding & large trucks out front. They were gone by the end of the day. But it was a rather chaotic arrival.

This property is on the tram route so it makes it so easy to use the tram. It is also possible to walk to Hadley park and the art district as well as many restaurants. It was convenient that they have free parking.

Lovely Victorian furnishings. No lift so need small amount of luggage to save struggling with unnecessary items.
