Loved this place! Tranquil and affordable. One thing is Wi-Fi is too slow to really do anything but starlink could fix that easily! I would get ~1mbps. Maybe we shouldn’t even need wifi but for practical reasons having a reliable source is nice.

I really enjoyed my stay at Maravu Taveuni Resort. My bure was beautiful, with the added charm of an outdoor shower, and felt tucked away in the jungle while still offering stunning sunset views over the ocean. The shower had trouble with water pressure and heat with the drought. The staff made the experience especially memorable. Ima and the front desk team were always warm, welcoming, and helpful. Rafa and Cali were incredible guides. I had a great time on my trips with Rafa to the waterfalls and the Waitavala waterslides, where he taught us so much about the island. I also appreciated that he helped me and another solo traveler split a trip when not enough people had signed up. It meant we still got to enjoy the experience. Cali and Rafa also shared local traditions and knowledge, from basket weaving to identifying fruit trees, and the nightly kava ceremonies with music were such a special way to connect with Fijian culture. The resort itself feels less “resorty” and more like an authentic island experience, with a strong sense of community and adventure. The staff go above and beyond to help arrange snorkeling, diving, taxis, and guided excursions. The restaurant food was excellent, and they were accommodating of dietary needs. Maravu is the perfect choice if you want to experience the natural beauty and culture of Taveuni with kind, knowledgeable people to guide you. I left with wonderful memories and would gladly return.

Overall nice little lodge with helpful staff. The shower water (temp and pressure) needs some attention. But not a major distraction as the overall everything else was good. Restaurant onsite was good with a daily evening variety.

Loved my week long stay at Taveuni. I decided on this place for the grounds, accessibility to the ocean, and opportunity to interact with others. The plantation grounds were lovely. Rooms are variable - I recommend Bure 112 (upgraded) or 5. Haven’t seen many others. The restaurant was reliable - big meals in the evenings. Great omelet and pancakes. Try the road for the best roti, papaya and plantains or a fish meal for $1.50-$5 US. Kava and songs in the evenings. Lovely ladies in staff will help you with everything you need. Fins and snorkel, towel rental. Shower out back for late flight departures. Nice pool. Central location. Excursions with Pete, Mateo and Batman car were great. Walking distance to a couple food places, airport and two small markets, and beautiful evening sunsets (Tramonte)/sunrises.

Shower is outside, not private. Toilet didn’t flush. They turned off the electricity from 10am-3pm every day. One little ac unit for too large spaces. Windows didn’t close properly. Staff was wonderful. Facility poor.

Staff are very friendly. Rooms are basic. We did have a small dorm-sized refrigerator, electric tea kettle, and a small selection of teas and instant coffee. We had hot water for about 1 minute while showering. There was a mini-split for hot days. Nothing fancy here so if you're looking for a special vacation, consider other options. We felt the price was very high for what you get. Also, be aware that they shut off the power every day from 11am-4pm to let the generator "cool off". Would have been nice to know before booking.

Stayed in the treehouse and it was a very long uphill trek from reception with suitcases (staff didn’t help) as well as 40 steps up to the room. Wouldn’t have booked the treehouse had we known it was such a trek to the room. We stayed for 3 nights, housekeeping didn’t attend our room throughout the duration of our stay, no clean towels provided, water or even basic amenities such as shower gel. The room was covered in bugs and spiders and even a lizard managed to get in during the night! Would not recommend.

Check was good. We got our rooms at 11.30am since we arrived early. Room was in good condition. Hotel is run on generator power. So there is no power between 11am to 4pm. This not a issue really as during that time we were out. The bar should carry better wine selection. A little inconvenience with the restaurant as we need to pay when served, so we need to carry either cash or card everytime we go to eat.

Our stay at Maravu Resort was a great experience. Whilst the accommodation was abdicate there is a lot of upgrading to be done. Any problems we had were attended to immediately. They were only the Air conditioner & Fan. The Staff and meals were fantastic. The lady in charge (Laisani) was friendly & attentive to our needs. Would recommend the Resort to everyone

Fantastic staff, always willing to help. Made our stay very personal and enjoyable. The activities they put on were great and there was no pressure to do them, however you were made to feel incredibly welcome if you did. Highly recommend Taveuni and Maravu Lodge

The staff and their service were excellent. They were very friendly and helpful whenever l needed anything. My only complaint lies in the lack of facilities in the room itself. At $175 Au a night l expected at least a fridge, jug and toaster. I was bought a jug on request by a helpful staff member. But much cheaper places have provided the above plus cutlery and china, even microwave ovens. Really at that price l believe more should be on offer. This complaint is for the admin staff only. All other staff were wonderful.

The position is great the view from Bure 8 is excellent, the grounds are well kept, the food unfortunately is not the best, 2 eggs nicely cooked on very dry toast for $10 and instant coffee for $3, ordered a fish curry one night small but tasty - you won’t put on any weight with these servings. Last night at last fresh local fish - two prices of fish about the size of my thumb - a half cup of vegetables and some fries for $30 I thought was a bit sad, arrived one day for lunch and was told the kitchen was closed, no previous notice and nowhere else to eat near by. After a heated discussion, we had fried rice with vegetables - couldn’t finish the dish it was so oily. I understand that times are hard after COVID, and I really have made allowances, the people are wonderful the site is great the island is spectacular , but I feel the whole island is pricing itself out of the tourist market. For example the walk to the waterfall in May will rise to $50 per person for a 40 min walk in high humidity and extremely steep track.

The checked in receptionist girl was very helpful. If I’m not mistaken her name was Maliana and the security guy was Kali…. two very kind people that made my stay pleasant. On the other hand the one that checked me out was rude and didn’t really listen to my complaint. Her name was Lavinia. I suggest that you do something about her attitude because its people like her that makes me or guests don’t want to stay at your place. Thanks for the checked in receptionist Maliana and Kali that I wouldn’t mine returning because of their friendly personality. When I first checked in Sept 20-22, I asked who the manager was and Kali pointed out to a guy and I think he said his name was Samu. I was surprised when I checked out and asked to see the manager and the lady said she’s the one and her name was Lavinia. I told her I have a concerned about them not letting my guest come up to my room after leaving a message with Maliana that I will be waiting for my guest which she said Ok . Anyway, the problem could be easily solve if that Lavinia would be more understanding, and listen to the complain from the guest. Anyway, that was the only unpleasant experience I had so I suggest to please talk to Lavinia to treat your customer with listening ears instead of trying to be defensive and think she knows it all. Vina’a va’a levu.
