The decor is old school (which we really liked!), the veg breakfast was awesome, and the neighborhood was pretty to walk around in (nice gaardens). It has free parking and a free laundry machine. It's hot in the summer (no a/c), but it didn't bother us because they provided a strong fan. The coffee system was a little confusing (you either use tokens), but it's free at breakfast. The Coffee was OK, not great... But that's my only con in the otherwise great stay! Oh one other tip: they have a guest kitchen, but you have to ask them for a key to use it - and you can keep the key for the whole of your stay. We arrived after hours (when reception wasn't there), and we had food so we didn't have a way to refrigerate the food the first night. Maybe the staff could make the kitchen rules clearer ahead of time to make sure this doesn't happen to others who arrive after hours.

The personell was amazing. Beside the friendly welcome, the guy helped us to find a better accomodation, even if the booking error was on our side. At the end, we got a very modern room in the main building (pls note that that are different buildings for this hotel). The room was clean, modern, nice to go back every evening. I reccomend to go eating at the golf club, not pricey, nice food and atmosphere.

Good choice for those wanting a close - half-hour drive to Wurzburg. The local drive to Wurzburg is very scenic. Friendly staff; quiet village.

This hotel is not as advertise. The bathroom was a common for the entire floor and the room temperature was set only at one setting

The receptionist was extremely warm and welcoming. We truly felt like guests. As this hotel is well off the beaten track, I don't think that many American visitors stay here. If you want to experience a small town/village environment, this is a perfect location. We had a bit of a challenge finding the hotel as the preferred exit from the autobahn was closed due to construction. We had to go to the next exit and circle back along a not so well marked detour. I suggest calling ahead to get specific directions from the autobahn if you are unfamiliar with the area. Thank goodness for the rental car GPS which was a great help winding our way through a few small villages to get to the hotel. Our departure was a slight challenge as well. We were advised that the entrance to the west bound autobahn was open; it was not. We simply headed eastbound on the autobahn to the next exit and reversed our direction. Turned out to be a very easy, straightforward detour.

I absolutely enjoyed my stay here. Markus made my stay in Atfeld the most wonderful time. From the scrumptious breakfast buffet, to the wonderful self-guided bicycle tour to Markthedenfeld and back. I would come back again.

Very lovely property. Everything is brand new. Our room was comfortable, bathroom was immaculate with deep tub and shower. Breakfast good. Fried eggs to order, coffee, meats, cheeses, and croissants. Juice and milk also. I would highly recommend. Only downfall is proximity to restaurants and such. I still recommend.

Great place to stay. Innkeeper, was a terrific help. Easy to find, great and easy parking. Very nice breakfast. Innkeeper was very helpful, in finding a place for an evening meal, even gave a food coupon, at places in town for dinner.

Service and breakfast were great. The room was pretty nice, however, it was very hot outside and there was no air conditioning, so it was quite uncomfortable, especially given that the only bedding was a thick comforter.

Little gem in backwoods Germany.Ideal for stop-off between UK and Austria etc. Mine host Markus was so amenable. Only drawbacks, no tea/coffee maker or small fridge in room.

Convenient location to the Autobahn -- nice small hotel with very cordial staff. While there is not much around, my ancestors were from the immediate area, so it was nice to stay so close.

We chose this hotel for its location, as we needed to break our car journey from the UK to Austria. The hotel was exactly six hours' drive from Calais and is situated in a beautiful quiet village, just five minutes from the A3. It is well sign-posted and has ample adjacent parking. We were greeted on arrival by the proprietor, an Austrian gentleman who spoke very good English. He asked us whether we had eaten and provided directions (and a discount voucher) for a couple of local restaurants - a pizzeria and a vegetarian restaurant. He then showed us to our wonderful second floor room. The room was spacious, absolutely spotless and in immaculate condition. It also had beautiful views over the village. We dumped our bags off, freshened up in the large en-suite bathroom and headed off on foot to the pizzeria, where we sat outside and enjoyed a very reasonably priced meal, albeit that the house wine left a little to be desired. We then returned to the hotel, where we enjoyed a very comfortable undisturbed night's sleep. The inclusive buffet breakfast the following morning was more than adequate, offering a wide choice of juices, cereals, bread, croissants, fruit, cakes, eggs, cheese, ham, etc. We could not have chosen a better hotel for our stopover and look forward to staying at the Spessartor again - either as a stopover or for a longer stay in this beautiful rural area.
