We had a fun evening in the pub, good food, and nice people. Our room was clean, comfortable, and perfectly sound proofed. We overlooked the parking lot but couldn’t hear people, cars, or dogs, even though we could see them. Great location for exploring Hadrians wall when you have limited time as we did.

Stafff were lovely & helpfull. We had a nice view but unfortunately it was above the entrance door to pub & main road outside. Didnt sleep very well because of folk coming & going & traffic.

Stop over whilst walking Hadrians Wall Path. We had one of the cabins which was clean. the outstanding part of our stay was however the food. One of the best steak pies I have had and son thought the same on his fish and chips.

As a hiker on the Hadrians Wall trail, this venue had everything; good food, good beer and a good drying room. After a wet walk this was most welcome. This place was very convenient on the Wall trail and would highly recommend.

Staff so helpful, nothing too much trouble. Secure bike storage and even a drying room for soggy walking and cycling things.

They have a great setup here; very convenient for hiking or bicycle riding. They were always able to accommodate our large group at mealtime. We also enjoyed the planetarium show.

The first person you speak to when checking in to most places is the receptionist . This place has the most friendly and efficient receptionist I've come across and got my stayboff to a great start after a very wet day walking. Everything else about the stay was also great, the only minor suggestion I'd make, as a solo traveller, was that placing me in the centre of the busy dining room for dinner and for breakfast made me feel a little self conscious, something I wouldn't normally feel. Unfortunately there isn't any choice about where you sit. The hotel has a very effective drying room which was well used the night I stayed there and much appreciated!

Fantastic stop for Hadrians wall hike. Unfortunately the room smelled of wet dog. Not all clients like dogs. Otherwise food was good quality and we had an early check in which was appreciated.

Location is amazing with the AD 122 bus stopping here or around the corner, depending on direction. Also around the corner is The Sill, with a Northumberland Park team of advisors who are excellent and can guide you in seeing Hadrian’s wall. The room was fine, though there is no rubber mat on their slippery shower floor. Having a brewery and pub right there is great and it’s a nice fun place. Breakfast is fabulous, though it is interesting that they preassign the tables. For some reason, they put the solo travelers far apart and not near the groups that already have someone to talk to. Not as excited about the restaurant for dinner. They reserve a table for you but then don’t let you order what you want. Sandwiches are only available until 5 PM. Everything seems to be designed to be marked up. The £18 ($24) burger was small, overcooked and not seasoned, cheese was extra! My waitress didn’t look like she enjoys her job. (The Sill next door also has a cafe. I wish I would have gone there for dinner.) Overall a nice place but more expensive than I would think. They charged me twice for my room, but Susan helped me reconcile this. Dinner was expensive, too, especially for mediocre food. Beer prices ok.

We felt the food was a little overpriced for what we ordered and the menu was much smaller than we viewed on line before booking. We couldn't get the heating on in the room and we were a bit chilled after a day's walking. I think on reflection it would be better getting a private room in the lovely youth hostel up the road for a third of the cost!

Over all the Twice Brewed Pub/Inn was a lovely place. The staff were warm and friendly and the food and beers were great. I be only had two concerns. The first was all rooms were on the second floor only accessible by a steep stair case. The second concern was in our bathroom shower. The faucet was in very poor repair. The first night it was very difficult to get either the water flow side and the heat side was extremely hard to turn for proper adjustment. The second night I was unable to get the shower to work at all. I informed the front seat before we left.

We really enjoyed our stay which was partly a Christmas Present for my wife. The weather was kind and we were able to visit Hadrians Wall as well as Vindalanda and get in some good walks (for us!). The accommodation was excellent the staff very friendly and helpful. We were completely satisfied.
