I enjoyed my stay at the affordable hotel. The buffet breakfast in the morning was lovely as well, providing fuel to start the day!

Not recommended. Rude service. We booked 4 rooms for 3 nights. We checked in on May 27, 2024. Our check-in experience was very good by the staff who were very friendly and could speak English and were very helpful. If they didn't understand, they would listen with Google Translate. This hotel doesn't clean the room. So we stayed 3 days without the room being cleaned, even though we could change towels every day. The breakfast experience on the first day was very unpleasant. It also tasted ordinary for 1000 yen/person. The food ran out, when asking for a refill, they said it wouldn't be refilled, even though it was still 1 hour away from breakfast time. The location is not too close for walking distance to Gion and Ninenzaka, about 20-30 minutes. The check-out experience was very bad. We asked permission to the receptionist on May 30, 2024 at 8 am, that we asked for a late checkout at 12 noon. The female staff said ok and asked us to write down the room number. At 11 am, our room was knocked on and told we had to check out at 11 and had to pay 100 per room if we wanted to be late. I tried to explain that I had asked permission to the female staff this morning. However, the male staff would not listen and just kept saying that getting out is free now. We have to pay 100 yen-yen. We felt very insulted and like we were being chased out even though we had asked permission. The male staff was very rude and could not speak English and did not want to try to see what was written using Google Translate.
