We felt a small tremor---large enough to make us feel the building move on the 8th floor---the staff was very assuring about it when we asked about it. We appreciated their understanding and response.

Check-in very quick and user friendly. Room, while small, was clean and laid out well. Especially enjoyed the onsen on the 9th floor. Close to the train station too.

Rooms were spacious by Japanese business hotel standards. I appreciated the separate shower and toilet spaces. Pillows weren't great and were too soft. We tried their memory foam pillows, but they weren't much of an improvement. Take note if you're fussy about pillows! Service was great — friendly and professional. The onsen was such a wonderful way to end and begin the day. The location was good: a short walk away from Fukui Station. It was sheltered most of the way. Parking was also available onsite for a fee, which was great because we drove. Would totally stay again if I had to visit Fukui again.

Excellent staff and facilities! 3rd Dormy inn I’ve stayed in during this trip. Hospitality here was the best. I give highest praise to the dine-in staff serving the free Ramen in the evening - cheerful even late at night and great ramen! The hotel is about 6-7 minutes away from Fukui station. Convenient for those taking the Echizen to see the Tojinbo/Oshima and Dino-museum (a must). Also about 8 minutes away from Europa-Ken birthplace of the Sauce-Katsura. The Onsen facilities were top-notch and clean (for the ladies rotenburo look up in the evening, there seems to be a hive of fireflies living nearby and it’s lively to see). Coffee/tea available in the lobby as is water (bring your water bottle). All in all a fabulous stay!

The staff is great and cleanliness of the facility is pretty good. It’s run by the same management company as Onyado Nono (I stayed at the one in Kyoto). The “meh”. The lite dinner service was mostly izakaya style fare of edamame, fries, and karaage knuckles (tastes good but its cartilage so it can be off putting if you’re not ready for it). We aren’t drinkers so getting free alcohol wasn’t a pull. That was a B . Breakfast was a bit pricey (~$15 pp) and was just okayyy. Their Fukui soba wasn’t as good as the Fukui soba at the Dino museum even if they are the same ingredients. The room smelled funny and we struggled with the AC remote for a bit. The good. There is free washing laundry in the baths, but gotta pay ¥100 per 20m for the dryer. Actually super convenient!! It’s about a slow 10m walk from the station, and passes a couple of dept stores/shopping areas for both local and touristy things which is convenient. The rooms were pretty quiet and the staff are friendly and helpful. The ice pops and free manga library in the sitting room near the baths were a big plus too. Also as a Dino lover I loved the fact that they lean into it so much within the city. Fukui as a whole gets an A !

Very comfortable and good value hotel with usual room facilities and great shower. What's exceptional though is the top floor natural spring onsen with both indoors and outdoors pools. Total luxury, a wonderful experience that preceded a great night's sleep (pillows a bit hard though?)

Enjoyed our 4 nights here. Renovated room, breakfast was excellent and had something different for each day. The service is very good. Loved the hot spa and the many extras that come as standard. Will definately return.

The quality of everything was very, very high (rooms, baths, breakfast, etc) and there were lots of special touches such as free coffee in the reception, welcome dessert in the room, free ice-creams and milk after the bath, free ramen service in the evening, etc. I want to know, do all Dormy Inn hotels offer the same services at the extremely high standard that the Fukui hotel does, or does the experience differ depending on which branch you visit?

This hotel is wonderful with amenities such as hot onsen to relax and recover tired legs and body. I was amazed of how beautiful this property is. Rooms are very clean, comfortable and nice. Staff welcoming but didn’t speak English so it was a bit lost in translation. They allowed storage of luggage while we already check out to explore furthermore of the city. Location was a distance walk from train station and buses. 18 minute walk. Probably will reconsider in future while it can be a distance from transit and train station.

Rooms were clean. Rate was reasonable. I liked the onsen on the 9th floor. They offer some free food items and refreshments, such as free icecream bar after you use the onsen.

It’s a distance from the station, but the Seibu department store (assuming it’s still around at the time you’re reading this) is just round the corner and offers a great range of shopping and dining options. Like other Kyoritsu Resorts Hotels, breakfast includes some local specialties. Like other Dormy Inns, there is no in-room bath, only a shower booth; the public bath uses hot spring water. Unless you have extremely heavy bags and absolutely need to be right next to the station, there’s probably no better hotel (based on value for money) than this in the entire Fukui station area.
