You get what you pay for these days more than ever before. We needed a hotel in the north of Brussels near our destination and we booked the onyx.100 euro, bed only which suited us.the 3 guys we encountered at various times on the desk were excellent, well done lads.Room was on 5 th floor, small and followed the minimalist approach re furniture, the shower was interesting but worked well. The mattresses were excellent and as usual in all hotels I have stayed in of late, the pillows were hard, usually bring my own but messed up this time.Basically we needed a room and we got a basis one but did the job.

The hotel is very clean and the lady who services your room is excellent at her job. New towels each day and room and bed cleaned. The staff on reception are good too. My only criticism is that the hotel has a bar and restaurant but it was closed. Whether it’s owned by a separate business I don’t know, but it would have been nice to sit and have something to eat and drink - they are missing out on extra income. However there are excellent restaurants just across the road. Its location is excellent for getting around on public transport - from the airport you just get the train into Gare de Nord and buses 40,41,45,50 and 60 from the station all stop at the hotel. The hotel sits right on top of Metro station Stuyvenburgh from where you can get to anywhere in Brussels- so no need to drive or pay central prices Overall excellent value, very close to football ground too

Nice hotel. Great view from our room. A kettle would have been nice! Cafe closed so no breakfast available. Staff very friendly.

Room nice and clean but needed some maintenance. Bed surprisingly very comfy. Massive minus is terrible noise from the super busy main road .. specially on Saturday night. Another negative is street parking … pretty much zero chance evening. Took 45 minutes to drive around to find whatever. Restaurant and breakfast really very nice

Stay away from this hotel! Even though it is one tram stop from the Expo it is in a NOT nice area. The windows would not close properly, very noisy room without heating in a day that was cold, dirty drapes, ugly bathroom and broken elevator in which I was stuck for about five minutes. security wise, the locks to close the door to the room were old style keys which you had to close manually. No in room safety box or security inside chain at the door. Definitely advertised as almost a four star hotel, it would not even make it to two.

If you like to sleep in a windy room without curtain nor any sound insulation by a very busy and noisy tram railways and road, go for it! 3 stars? NO WAY!

Onyx Lounge is good for its proximity to the metro but it could do with a refresh. I was originally given the wrong room and the room looked a little dated, and some of the sockets looked like they'd been forced into the wall as well as the shower room door looking like its repair had been botched. It was day two when they realised I had the wrong room and they just moved me to the new room and told me I'd been moved when I got in that day. No harm done, I suppose. I understand they had to clean it but it was a shock. The new room had a better shower room door but the sockets also looked poorly installed. Neither TV worked. There was no remote in the first room and no reception in second. The beds were comfy enough and the shower warm and spacious. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and most spoke good English. As I said, the big plus about the hotel was the proximity to the metro. You literally alk out the door and turn a corner. The Atomium is just up the road and some ice parks a short walk away. There's not a lot of shopping in the area though. It's cheaper than much of Brussels so good if you just want to rest your head.

The staff did not speak English, the rooms smelled horrible due to the bathroom and we could not sleep as the toilet water was running for hours. The elevator was old, small and did not have a door. The location is good if you want to walk to Atomium and Mini Europe and be next to metro station and bus station. I would not stay at this location again.

The staff were rude and unpleasant. My room had a balcony over the rear covered in bird poo. The room/building looks half finished.

Reasonable small hotel to have access to the Mini-Europe, Stadium and Atomium, but a bit noisy neighborhood.

I attended a concert at a Stadium down the street - this was a easy walk. The employees seemed to want to help in any way they could.

Room had no ventilation. No fan or anything. Opened window after moving curtains meant to keep window shut and had pigeons come in room. Room was uncomfortably hot.

My room had a very narrow, uncomfortable bed; it was quite spartan with literally nothing but a bed; however it was OK for a one night stay.
