The Birks is a beautiful hotel with excellent service. Very comfortable room and bed; we were on the quiet side but might have preferred the side on Square Phillips, for the light. Housekeeping comes every day, several times in fact. The bistro, Henri, is very good and it's nice to have the option right in the hotel

Great location. Very nice room. Restaurant and general facilities are quite nice. Main quibble is with the fitness center. It’s so small and underequipped as to be basically nonexistent.

Right in downtown area. About on1 mile walk to historic section of town. Wake to historic area is downhill but uphill going home. Hotel is clean. We did not have air conditioning the fort night we were there b they fixed it after and it was goof after that. Nice restaurant at the hotel.

Beautiful hotel, restaurant was excellent, everyone was very friendly.

Upon checking in , I was advised that the hotel didn’t accept visa debit as a pre authorized payment and was asked to go take out double the amount of the deposit for incidentals in cash ( $500) . When I asked to order room service they asked me to come down to pay for my order when I refused it they magically worked out a way to send someone upstairs. The room was extremely out-dated ( how in the world is it a 5 star is beyond my understanding) . Additionally , the room is not well insulated so you can hear noises from up and down & in the hallway. Finally, cherry on the ice cream I wasn’t given a receipt for my deposit so the next day it took a manager to be able to get the deposit back. Overall experience for the supervisor when I checked in and the room 0/10. I’ll only say that the only competent person working there is Nabil who was at my checkout.

Birks has unfortunately gone downhill in recent years. Customer service is only average - while employees are friendly, there were multiple instances where items we ordered from the concierge never made it to our room. Our room was also only moderately clean - no major issues in primary areas but there were dozens of cobwebs on the ceiling with multiple spiders. We had also booked the terrace room but unfortunately the terrace was not very clean (also had many spider webs) and lots of dust. Unfortunate given we paid more for that amenity. The elevators are also quite slow. Other than that, pros are that the hotel is centrally located and the lobby bar is quite nice. Will look at other options next time we visit.

I had an absolutely amazing stay at Birks Hotel in Montreal! From the moment I arrived, the elegance and charm of the place blew me away. The location is fantastic — right in the heart of the city, close to great restaurants, shopping, and attractions. I also loved the attention to detail throughout the hotel, from the stunning décor to the thoughtful amenities. Overall, Birks Hotel exceeded all my expectations. It’s the perfect spot for anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable experience in Montreal. I can’t wait to come back!
