Overall, it's a good recommendation, especially for tourists with a tight budget. Although it's in an alley, access to Malioboro is close (from one end of the alley) and access to the station is close (from the other end of the alley). I happened to be in a room on the 1st floor, which has 2 doors from different sides. Maybe because it's an old hotel, the bathroom needs repairs, one of which is the shower drips even though it's turned off, there's no place to put toiletries (toothbrush, face wash, etc.). And the AC can only be directed downwards, not swinging. So it directly touches the body.
