I liked the historic feel of the building; it has an old-world charm, if slightly rundown. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the rooms were spacious. I splurged on a suite, and due to travel slowdowns, checked in at 11 p.m. The bar was already closed, and the offerings from their "store" were extremely limited, and there were no close convenience stores or restaurants near the location. In the morning, I went to use the in-room coffee machine pod set up that was on a bar in the living room, but not only was it not plugged in, it was far away from any usable outlet. Also, when I went to use the iron and ironing board, the board was out of sorts and needed to be repaired. I hope they can make some thoughtful adjustments to ensure their rooms are fully ready in the future.

The Richardson will be my new home away from home when we travel to Buffalo. See you Christmas. Just breathtakingly beautiful and the management and staff are wonderful.

Thank you to the staff and management at the Richardson Hotel. I had a medical emergency my first night and they were helpful and considerate being the go between for us and EMS. After returning to the hotel they checked in on my well being and when feeling better I throughly enjoyed my stay. Thank you for being more than just staff but caring, empathetic individuals. The Richardson is a beautiful hotel . 20 foot ceilings and 3 inch wood doors virtually sound proof. The hotel is an architectural masterpiece surrounded by history. Elmwood/Forest Ave has everything a Buffalonian like me or visitor could ever want. Food/ shopping/nightlife or just sights. Liquor license and restaurant on grounds we will be retuning for the holidays. Thank you again for making our stay enjoyable despite the circumstances.

Absolutely beautiful and unusual historical building that a portion of it was turned into a hotel and is located next to a college. Had very modern rooms with very tall ceilings and beautiful furnishings. Will definitely stay here again.

We love the history and also the concept of the hotel. We just wish that we would’ve known that we would not have access to any restaurants or even a bar. There was also only a community refrigerator which made it difficult for medication purposes and that was also not disclosed. The staff was beyond amazing and so accommodating it made the experience perfect from that perspective.

Awkwardly, Expedia sold us the room but this hotel is new and does not have their booking set with Expedia. So, they didn't have a reservation for us but luckily had a vacancy so could fit us in. The property and staff are great - booking through Expedia was not

This is a beautifully restored property that was comfortable. My only issue was navigating around it since at times it was confusing going between the wings of the hotel. The continental breakfast the next morning was a little underwhelming since it was nearly empty - coffee included by 9 am. The staff was friendly and pleasant and very helpful.

Felt like a luxury hotel with ultra high ceilings and 19th century architecture. Room was somewhat small but exceptionally clean and modern. Front desk very friendly and accessible.

WOW!! I LOVED this property!! The history is so fascinating and everything inside fits with the charm of the building. I loved the high ceilings and the fact that there was a gym right in the building. We stayed there to attend a concert, which was just a walk down the street. Everything was so clean, safe, close to shopping and restaurants, and literally perfect. We will definitely be back!
