Very urban location with traffic noise. Booked a superior room, but small, sparse, very basic, no telephone, TV not working. Definitely not superior! These issues were raised, receptionist promised partial refund but manager totally refused any compensation, even through official complaint from Hotels.com. Extremely disappointing. We would definitely not recommend.

Only this was spa is offsite

This was a fine place to stay. It was a little out of the core area of the city and required some hill climbing or a 6€ cab fare into the old town, and a longer ride to the train station. However, this hotel offered a more competitive room price to make up for the less convenient location.

It was a lovely hotel, with dining options close by (check out the restaurant XPTO next door -- delicious and friendly). The hotel breakfast was also really nice. The beds were a little stiff and old, but it didn't bother us. The room was very clean and comfortable.

The staff was very helpful, the breakfast was quite diversified and complet, my only dislike is the Windows are not double glass so you hear all noises, the doors have no good insulation so you could listen everything even from other rooms which affected my quality of stay. If this details are improved and the bathroom modernised it has all chances to be a 8+ hotel. Might stay again if needed due to closeness to hospital and due to its budget price.

Good for one night but no restaurant.

Staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful. Room was very basic, so I felt overpriced for what it was, and clearly not one of the rooms featured in the listing. Breakfast was average but the coffee was unpleasant. However, a good location for my needs

Parking on site. Balcony appreciated. A little out of town but still quite accessible. Supermarket nearby.

Front desk staff were very helpful re restaurants, activities, train schedule. The hotel is not convenient to the historic area of the town, about a half hour walk. It was hard to find initially. Nice room, good service, but not convenient.

A cute hotel with everything you need. Within walking distance you can find 3 large supermarkets to buy water, snacks and at Pingo Doce you will find a large lunch selection. The rooms were spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. Love the little desk area next to the window, you can work and enjoy a nice view outside. The breakfast was good, with a variety of fresh fruit, cake, juice, eggs and bread. There was something for everyone. All around we enjoyed our stay at hotel umu.

Dated rooms in need of renovation urgently. Excellent staff, friendly e very helpful. Food at the snack bar very good.

El hotel esta bien, hace años que lo visito y me gusta , pero me parece de muy poca clase por no decir otra cosa que cobren la botella de agua grande a 4€. Cuando me iba a dormir pedi una en recepcion y eso me querian cobrar 4 €. Logicamente le dije a las chicas que me parecia un robo y fui a coger la que tenia en mi coche. Creo que es abusivo cobrar esa cantidad por algo que es necesario. El personal muy correcto siempre.

Mejorar el baño, arreglar defectos del baño

Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb vom Zentrum, das hatten wir allerdings im Vorfeld gewusst. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war gut. Sehr nettes Personal an der Rezeption.
