Overall I have mixed feelings about this hotel - it is a fine place, and I had a good stay! But I wish the listing description was more accurate to the experience. I would consider this a very clean, upscale, well-priced, and conveniently-located private room airbnb experience. The room itself was faultless, clean, and modern. But none of the advertised services were provided, like breakfast, room service (sheet changes), or private balconies. You check yourself in and handle services yourself. Regardless, at the end of the day, I still had a pleasant stay at Miju House. The price was still fair for the quality of the room and location. And I would recommend it. Just needs to not be advertised as a 3 star hotel experience.

nice location and good condition guesthouse, but inside a residential compound, which makes it extremely noisy. walls are very thin, so we could hear everything that's going on in the residential buildings and in the reception. a good place to come if you are going out around Jing An, very bad if you are coming to relax.

The wall can’t isolate the sound very much and some “de-da” sound from the ceiling make me can’t sleep for a whole night. I cant figure out what make the sound. For the rest, it was fine and the dog is so cute.

Mini House is a small boutique hotel w a few rooms on each of its three floors. The rooms are small (at least mine were) but sufficient. Breakfast is not offered at this small hotel. I stayed in two rooms w two different experiences. The first room on the third floor was quiet and clean. I then had to move to room on the second floor that was near the stairway. I could hear anybody who came up and down the stairs at anytime, day or night. I could hear a lot more street noise as well. And unfortunately the room had a sewage smell which often comes up through the pipes in Chinese apartments and Hotels. The staff at Miju house were friendly and helpful, but Speak very little if any English. The location is very convenient to the leafy streets of old jing an district as well as to subway line 7. While I wasn’t sorry to have stayed au Miju House, I found it a bit pricey for what you get.

Great location in a small alley in Jing An district. The room was just right and a fair price for what you pay. My room was on the ground floor which was a little loud as I could hear people walking in and out of the front door.

This little hotel at the end of a quiet street in central Shanghai was amazing for my relatively long stay (1 week). The location is ideal to explore the city and close to restaurants and bars. The metro (line 7) is a short 5-minute walk. The room I had was spacious and sunny. Room service is only done every two days. The entrance is not a 24-hour entrance so make sure to warn in advance if you are going to arrive out of business hours. The girl at the entrance was super nice, however you might need the help of a smartphone translator to communicate. Highly recommended!

I had a very pleasant stay at Miju while on a business trip in Shanghai. I would describe the experience as somewhere between a hotel and AirBnB, in a good way. The hotel is conveniently located just north of the popular Jing'an area, 2 mins walk from Changping metro station and 12 mins from Jing'an station. My room, which was the biggest one in the house, was spotless and nicely decorated. I liked that there is a washer/dryer in the common area, since I was in a middle of a long trip. The only minor downside was the area - the hotel is right in the middle of an older neighborhood, which is nice if you want to get a flavour of everyday old Shanghai. However, it is a bit noisy, if you are not the morning type. My room was on the ground floor and I heard everything in the surrounding area - didn't bother me too much but may be a problem for others. The walls are generally pretty thin so keep that in mind. Overall, great value and I would stay here again.

the place look nice, clean, and the neighborhood was great. just a few points to be aware of, it is more like a bnb than a hotel. because it's converted from an old house, there is no elevators, and a few weird steps within the room which could be a little dangerous for some. also the restroom set up is a bit awkward. the bathtub next to the bed makes it hard to take a carefree shower as you're worried to get water outside of the tub.

It is a very new and cosy hotel, still within its first 3 months of operation. Very nice owner who is also very helpful. Environment is local Shanghainese. Miju is located in the midst of local residential area, great for those who are keen to experience old Shanghai housing.

Miju House is an extensively renovated old building tucked away in an alley. The rooms are very nicely designed, modern, attractive and comfortable. Excellent shower and plumbing! The proprietors, who I think live in the building, barely speak English but were really friendly and helpful. They have at least one dog, so if you're allergic, this might be a problem. Great location, in a lively low rise residential and commercial district, a five minute walk from a subway station, with a number of restaurants in the area, including a nice coffee shop. No breakfast but you can buy materials in the convenience store just a few steps from the hotel and eat in the common kitchen. Very steep stairs to the second and third floor rooms. Chinese people rise early, and the alleys around the building are active from about 6AM, so our second floor room was somewhat noisy. There's free WIFI but I found the signal to be really weak. I imagine you could go over to the coffee shop if you needed better internet. Overall a really pleasant two day stay, good value for the money.

We headed over to Miju House early in the morning the next day, we were greeted with a warm smile from the owner of the place, although our room wasn’t ready at the time, since we arrived 4 hours before the check in time, he still let us used the bathroom and shower in the other room to freshen up, which I offered to pay the cleaning fee for his inconvenience, that’s only fair. Our room was very clean and tidy when we arrived, it is equipped with everything we needed, from hairdryer to drinkable water filter. The design is contemporary yet comforting. It’s a newly renovated building located in a quiet neighborhood in the city centre. Only two minute walk away from the closest subway station on Line 7, very easy to navigate to even for foreigners like us. The best word I can use to describe the Miju House is friendly. The owner not only let us have food and drink from the fridge in the communal kitchen, he even made us cocktails and tea when we come back from an exhausting day of exploring the city. Although the owner doesn’t speak very fluent English, but it’s more than enough for us to communicate, and we never felt more welcomed at an accommodation. You might spend a little bit of time finding the building for the first time, since it’s hidden in a residential area not far from the main street, inside a gate, look for the yellow neon sign at the second story level. You’ll find it. And You’ll find the Miju House pleasantly surprising.
