I got a cheap price, and didn't expect the room to be that great, only 4 people in a room, the bed was quite spacious, the blanket was thick, the room smelled nice, and it wasn't noisy.

The staff were friendly and the included breakfast of toast and watermelon (and coffee & tea) was good. I didn't get much sleep during my stay because my bed was too hot. The room itself was cold, but once in bed, I guess the air couldn't actually get through the privacy curtains. I ended up just pushing them down and sleeping with them open although that didn't seem to help much. At the top of the bed is a cupboard where the powerpoint is, so you have to leave the cupboard open to charge your devices, which would be fine except the cupboard door opens downwards and rests on the bed (at some point in the past, it had hinges to keep it up but they broke a long time ago). So to sleep while charging my phone, I had my pillow at the end of the cupboard door (losing about 20cm of bed space), which meant my feet were at the very bottom of the bed. I'm a small person so it wasn't too bad but it wouldn't work for anyone taller. There is one bathroom area for both the rooms on my floor (one is a female dorm and the other is mixed). The bathroom is an open area with individual stalls for showers and toilets, with the sinks at either end. I had four showers during my stay and three of them were lukewarm and one was hot, so the heat level probably just depends on when you're showering. This hostel is in a good location and cheap, so you very much get what you pay for. For the price, it's pretty good, really.

You can't wear shoes, so you can hear them thumping around. There are rats on the first floor, it's insane. I wanted a lower bunk, but they wouldn't give it to me, even though there were empty ones. The upper bunk doesn't have a railing, it's scary, I'm afraid I'll fall off. I'll never stay there again.

This is my third stay at this hostel. The location is very strategic, close to public transportation/Rapid Penang buses. It's close to everything, including the popular food spots in George Town. The only downside is that the hotel doesn't have an elevator. You have to climb the stairs to your room on the second floor. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Free breakfast includes bread, watermelon, and drinks. The price is very affordable. Recommended for backpackers and budget travelers.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The location is excellent — right near Little India and many major attractions, which made it super convenient to explore the city. The room was clean and comfortable, with a soft bed, great air conditioning, and strong hot shower. I really appreciated the free towel and the breakfast in the morning — both nice touches. The Wi-Fi was fast and worked well even in the room. There’s a cozy area on the ground floor where I could work on my laptop — a big plus for digital nomads. However, I did find bed bugs in my bed twice during my stay. I informed the staff, and they changed the sheets and shook the mattress, but unfortunately it didn’t fully solve the issue. Also, the door to the room slammed loudly because the lock was stiff — maybe a door closer would help. Overall, despite the issue with the bed bugs, I had a good stay. The facilities and comfort were great, and I hope the hostel takes further steps to address the pest issue. I would still recommend it once this is resolved.

The price is worth it with a location that is very close to tourist activities, super friendly staff, you can leave your luggage and breakfast is included ✨ The coffee is delicious even though it's only black coffee with creamer 🥰

I've stayed here many times. The hotel's design is dated, but it's comfortable. There's breakfast and a relaxing area in front of the hotel. The location is strategic, close to the mosque, with plenty of halal food options, and close to Penang Street Art.

This is the second time I've stayed here because the check-in and check-out are easy and the staff are very friendly. I like that everyone has to take off their shoes, so you can walk around the room with peace of mind. This time, the beds are in a dormitory with curtain rails to separate each bed, which is very good. But the bad thing is that this time the air conditioning in the room we got was broken, making it very hot and stuffy to sleep in. We notified the accommodation to fix it, and it was fixed on the second night, but it broke again in the morning.

Lovely dorm with blackout curtains for privacy. Great location near Little India and Chulia Street eateries. Light breakfast of toast, fruit, and tea/coffee available all day. Nice sitting room at street level to just watch. Easy check-in, also for info.

I think it's okay for a short stopover. But for a long stay, you might want to consider it again. As for access to public facilities (bus/ferry terminals, places of worship, restaurants), it's quite good.

I stayed at Red Inn Court Penang at a fairly cheap price for the Georgetown, Penang area. In terms of service, I was very satisfied because the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel location is also strategic, making it easy to access various tourist attractions and culinary around Georgetown. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, although I got a room on the 3rd floor (top), which was quite tiring because I had to climb the stairs. But considering this is a budget hotel, I didn't really mind it. One thing that is less comfortable is that this hotel is not soundproof. Because the floor is made of wood and the walls are made of plywood, the sound of people's footsteps passing by can be heard very clearly. However, overall, I felt at home here and this hotel is still a decent choice for travelers on a budget.
