Room cleaning costs extra. Bed bugs. Thin walls, nonstop dog-barking. Filthy settee/sofa. Nice kitchen. Air conditioning works. Great location. Close to the Metro. Lots of restaurants nearby. Beautiful building.

The hotel is very well located near a metro station that gives easy access to the main attractions in Washington. The property is very nice, the staff are very helpful, friendly and professional (Tracey).

Placemakr is a great hotel. Its apartment style living on vacation. It reminds you of home.

Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Home away from home. Side entrance you can access in and out like a true residential apt. Room had almost everything you need for a longterm visit. Only thing missing was an iron in the room. Walls are thin so hopefully you get quiet neighbors next to you and light footed neighbors above you. I would likely stay here again.

I have mixed feelings about this property. View, light, and privacy are very important to me, so I called ahead to make sure we’d be in a room facing the square (in the older building), not one overlooking the adjacent wall, as some reviewers had warned. I was advised to book a one-bedroom instead of a studio , as I had originally planned. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were placed in a room facing another building with very little light or privacy—and directly next to the noisy elevator. The room also wasn’t very clean. When I asked to switch rooms, the front desk couldn't help that evening (it was only 6.30pm), and I was told to speak to the manager the next morning. Thankfully, the manager was kind and accommodating, and moved us to a studio, which was exactly what we were hoping for—bright, full of natural light, and facing the square. There was some traffic noise at night, but it didn’t bother us. In short: our first room was a 1-star experience, the second was a 5-star. So overall, it’s a mixed review and i am glad we were able to change room after 1 night. Location is really great, and close to restaurants and shops. Lots of options within 10-15 min walk.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the AC worked great.

I had such a wonderful experience at Placemaker DC in DuPont Circle! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming from the moment I arrived, making me feel right at home. The room was beautifully designed—comfortable, spacious, and thoughtfully decorated with all the little touches that made my stay extra special. It’s clear they really care about their guests. I would definitely recommend Placemaker DC to anyone looking for a warm, inviting place to stay in the heart of DuPont Circle.I will be returning :)

Great studio apartment in a converted mansion on DuPont Circle. Spotless with an upgraded experience and a perfect location. Affordable parking is an available in the area not right at the entrance. Call in advance for the info to make your life easier. I travel a lot. This place was perfect!!!

Great value. My room was nice, perfect for long term stays w/good kitchen and even a washer/dryer combo. The flooring was not done well however and the vinyl planks did not fit correctly -big gaps which caused the planks to move around. Hope they didn’t pay that contractor!
