I recently stayed at Bougainvillea in Barbados. Overall, the resort has potential and offers a nice beachfront location with relaxing views. The grounds are charming and the setting is peaceful, but a few things could definitely be improved.
Unfortunately, the room had a persistent moldy smell, which made it uncomfortable to relax indoors. The property itself is in need of some upkeep—particularly a fresh coat of paint—to bring it back to the standard you'd expect from a beachfront resort.
Customer service was hit or miss. The front desk staff didn’t come across as very friendly or welcoming during our stay, which was disappointing. On a more positive note, some of the café staff were warm and pleasant, which helped balance the experience.
With some updates and improved hospitality at the front desk, Bougainvillea could be a much more enjoyable place to stay.
