We stayed one night during a winter car vacation along the east coast. The hotel is central to shopping, restaurants, and lovely neighborhoods. Street parking was free from 7 pm to 9 am. The facility is steeped in history with charming furnishings in the common spaces and high quality beds and bedding in the room - the most comfortable of all the hotels during our trip. Warm fresh bread and lots of other delicious breakfast offerings. Coffee and tea in the common area as you wish. It’s a secure building and very quiet - in winter with windows closed. I can imagine hearing sounds of the city in the summer. There is a handy elevator to the hotel level, but there are at least 10 steps to get up to the elevator. We will return for a summer visit to this lovely and historic city.

We really enjoyed our stay at this place. Very smooth and friendly staff.

The hotel is really convenient to the train station. It is super cute with antique furniture and toy trains (not antique). There isn't a lot of staff, but we got our checkin info by SMS (door codes and room assignments) and everything worked smoothly. The toilets and showers were clean and never a problem to find an available facility. My room had a sink which made it more comfortable to brush teeth and have water during the night. The breakfast had a great selection, even make-your-own museli.

Very central, facing railway station. You need your phone to check in, they'll send the door code. Shared loos & showers. Rooms comfy & clean. Tea & coffee & snacks freely available, good breakfast. Overall good value for money, good base for exploring the area.

Run down and dirty, funky smell in the shower stalls, no sound proofing whatsoever. A hobo slept in the stairs when we came home late at night. Good location close to the railway station.

Nice hotel, but quite old

Ett bra och mysigt ställe. Har man svårt för dofter är detta inte det bästa valet. Bra service och trevlig personal.

Ingen spisemuligheder, senge ok (Desværre ikke eget badeværelse)

Väldigt fint och gammalt hotell! Underbar personal som välkomnade direkt och visade runt. Rummet var otroligt fint det med! Det enda negativa jag har att säga är att sängarna gled ifrån varandra för lätt så om man har en partner så ramlar denne (eller du) ner i springan mellan. Frukosten hade inte så många alternativ tyvärr. Såg fram emot ägg och bacon men det fanns mest torra mackor och flingor. Annars var det en fullpott trots att toaletterna är gemensamma och inte på rummet! Nära och bra, personalen var så välkomnande och vistelsen var super!

Enkelt hotell med gemensamma wc och duschrum

Järnvägshotellet upplevs mer som ett vandrarhem än ett hotell. Det är gemensamma toaletter och duschar. Inredningen är gammal. Vilket iofs säkert är ett medvetet val av ägarna, men den behöver inte vara sliten för det. Standarden är låg med gammal utrustning. I frukosten saknades den ”varma maten” och påläggen som låg på faten kändes som ”billighetsmärken”.

Ett centralt och bra boende för priset 750:-. Okey frukost och bra säng. Lite oljud från pubben på bottenvåningen ute servering då jag låg över dom men dom stängde som tur var klockan 23.

Konferens med cirka 300 deltagare, varav många vänner sedan tidigare. Gångavstånd till Järnvägshotellet.
