Excellent service! Charming hotel and room! Very safe and convenient stores and eateries! Within minutes from the ocean!

Sweet little hotel in downtown Chula Vista. It was so quiet and we enjoyed being able to easily walk to a restaurant for breakfast each morning. Parking is on site and safe. A great place.

Next time we’ll get the King, only because that’s what we’re used to.

The property is old but very clean. The owners were very nice and treated me like family.

Smelled mildewy

We enjoyed our stay! An antidote to a corporate hotel stay: human-scale, friendly, had character & history. Great location right near Chula Vista’s downtown strip (breweries, coffee shops, restaurants, park) — an unexpected surprise full of options but still very quiet and calm. The courtyard is a nice place to chill out. Perhaps the hotel has seen better days, but if you don’t mind things being a little rough around the edges, the character is worth it. Inkeepers added a personal touch that made us feel at home.

First the room we reserved was not available because the carpets were being cleaned so we were moved from a premium room to a tiny little room that you could barely turn around in. The room was not cleaned, trash emptied or towel changed for three days and only then after we complained. The owner offered mulitple excuses none were valud. We had stayed there before but trust me we won't stay there again.

Everyone was very friendly, made you feel right at home. It’s a charming hotel. Easy parking made it convenient. Small room, small bathroom, but that’s expected considering the age. It was roomy enough for my husband and I. It was clean and comfortable. Best ice machine too!!! I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was nice and simple. Karen and Katie were very kind and friendly, and the staff made me feel at home.

The place is super cute and clean. Receptionist and owners are super sweet and attentive. I will definitely return!

Just right! Simple, quaint, comfortable, friendly, easy. Perfect. in the support email they state "ARRIVE AS GUEST, LEAVE AS FRIENDS, COME BACK AS FAMILY" - I think this sums it up perfectly. When I need to stay down in this area again I'll definitely return to El Primero.
