We had a fantastic stay at Wild Oryx Camp in Wadi Rum. Our host, Eid, was not only welcoming but also an excellent guide and storyteller. He clearly communicated the agenda, explained our options for excursions, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. The food was decent, and the camp itself exceeded our expectations. The two domes we stayed in had plenty of space for our group of eight, the bathrooms were clean, and the rooms were air-conditioned, a huge plus in the desert heat. One of the best aspects of Wild Oryx Camp is its location. It’s set further into Wadi Rum, surrounded by beautiful desert landscapes, unlike some other camps we passed that were closer to the roads and city. If you are looking for a more remote and authentic setting, this is it. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would highly recommend Wild Oryx Camp to anyone visiting Wadi Rum.

We loved our stay in the desert. The camp was small and very friendly - the staff were great - all managed to communicate in English despite it not being their first language. The view of the starts and the Milky Way was unforgettable. Downsides - it’s probably not a 5* as advertised, and the bathroom was basic but clean. Though the beds were very comfortable. I don’t think this detracts from the experience / it will be one of our most memorable trips. The pick up was odd - there was a lot of driving on the road in the back of an open jeep which didn’t feel safe - though eventually we got to the desert and that was better, though unexpectedly we stopped at the owner’s own house for a briefing which I would have expected at the camp itself. Overall - great location, great staff, great bedroom space and view of the desert, bathroom pretty basic. Food was lovely. I would recommend this camp if you are looking for something more personal.

Why should you choose this camp when there are literally hundreds to choose from? It’s simple. It’s safe, clean, beautiful and an experience like no other. Eid (host) and his family (including his nephew Motaz) are two of the most welcoming and friendly people my husband and I have ever met. This a true family run camp and every detail was taken care of from being able to park our cars at his property and bring driven into the desert on a 4x4 to a wonderful tour, sunset tea and finally a delicious dinner. Everything we wanted was taken care of and we felt well taken care of. My husband and I have travelled over the world and it’s one our favourite experiences together. I have already recommended this camp to so many people. We felt so safe and welcome in Jordan too. I can’t wait to come back!

What an amazing place! The owner was very hospitable, the bubbles are great, clean, comfortable and the area is so beautiful. You wake up to an amazing sunrise and see the most amazing sky at night. It is far away from the other camps and the road. You have the perfect Wadi Rum experience in a beautiful, family run camp with bathrooms, wifi etc. My kind of "camping." We were treated like a family and the service exceeded our expectations. We also booked a full day tour of Wadi Rum and it was awesome. We can highly recommend this place and will recommend it to our friends. We actually should have stayed longer.

I stayed at the camp this weekend and everything about it was amazing. Eid and his nephew Motaz made me feel so welcome. This is so much better than the other camps in the area, some of which are literally by the roads and crammed in. This is far away from others and you really get a good remote desert experience. I’m a vegetarian and the food was fantastic, and plenty of it! I did the jeep tour and camel tour which Eid organised. Eid and everyone else couldn’t do enough for me, and made me feel very welcome despite the fact I was travelling alone. If you want somewhere to stay in the area then choose this place, you won’t be disappointed!

This glamping camp is located in the North of Wadi Rum Desert not super far from town (but there are no “paved roads” so your host will drive you around). It has 4-5 tents only so if you prefer a quieter experience over those larger camps, this would be a good option. The host Eid and his family are friendly and willing to go extra miles to help. They organised my tours while I was there and sorted out all my meals. They were very communicative from the moment I made my booking to the day I got there (all through WhatsApp to share all the tips and where to meet and guided me to their home to leave my car). Great hospitality! The bed is comfortable, the bubble tent (both interior and exterior) is clean and makes a unique experience. You get hot shower (but you will need to adjust it for a while but no big issues considering you’re in the middle of a desert, and there’s AC inside the bubble tent too for those warmer days. The curtains are good in blocking out the light so you could sleep in if you need. If you’re thinking of stargazing at night, this is possible right outside the camp, however photography might be a bit harsh as this camp is not that far away from village and you can still see the bright light from the village in distance. Perhaps check with the host for a stargazing tour if the season is suitable to view the Milky Way from more remote locations. Overall, excellent experience! Thanks for hosting, Eid & team!

We booked this on very short notice, and I am glad we did! Eid, his nephew Motaz, and his whole team are extremely kind, sweet, and welcoming. It´s nice to be able to be flexible...we were extremely tired after our drive to Wadi Rum and didn´t want to do a long desert tour as recommended by Eid. Instead, Motaz drove us to the three best stops in the desert on the way to the camp and then picked us up again for a short sunset drive. The bubbles are in a remote location and have everything you need; we loved that you can see so many stars at night. The dinner/breakfast was elaborate and so delicious, you just feel like you are staying with their family. I loved that Eid even brought a birthday cake for my husband (I only mentioned it once in a text message), it was such a sweet gesture and perfectly sums up the outstanding hospitality. Communication before and during the stay is very fast and helpful. I can´t recommend Wild Oryx enough if you are looking for a small, personal, and very welcoming camp.

The owner gave us his full attention and was very hospitable. The rooms were clean, the bed very comfortable, the food was great, the location was out of this world. Loved the excursion in the desert and the drivers were experts in maneuvering the trucks in the sand. The views were breathless and the staff made us feel like family. Highly recommended!!!

We had an absolutely unforgettable stay here. Its us truly out of this world waking up to views of the desert. Eid was the perfect host and guide on an incredible tour of Wadi Rum and helping me conquer my fear of heights to climb Umm Ad Ami mountain.

This has to be one of the most incredible experiences - and stays - we’ve ever had! Eid picked us up from the town, where we stopped to grab some snacks and bread (relax, it’s not a scam, nobody is going to ask you for money). We then sat down and had a chat at his house (where you leave your car). Eid made us feel incredibly welcome - and safe. As an LGBTQ couple it can feel a little apprehensive to travel - Eid acknowledged that literally told us to be ourselves and act no different than we normally would. From there we went on a tour of the south part of Wadi Rum - which was UNREAL. If only we had more time we would have definitely done more. The camp was stunning and the food - both dinner and breakfast - were better than the food we had at any other hotels in Jordan. A truly delicious feast. The stars and that feeling you get waking up in the desert in a pod can’t be explained and you can only understand it when you experience it. While every single thing about this stay was exceptional, I think what really blew our mind was Eid’s (and everybody else working at the camp) hospitality - all genuine, interesting people who made it their mission to ensure we had an adventure to remember. We have many friends who are thinking of visiting Jordan and we’re making sure they’ll be staying at this camp. You should too!

We loved our time in Wadi Rum at the Wild Oryx Camp! We wish we had stayed longer than one night. Eid treats his guests like family and our experience was personalized and tailored to our preferences. Our daughter had a blast riding around in the truck on the tour and also getting to ride a camel for the first time. As a vegetarian, I was so pleased with the food available and everything was delicious. The bubble tents were spacious and tucked away, so it felt like you were literally the only ones in the desert. We look forward to going back and staying again one day!

This was our second time in Wadi Rum and our first time at Wild Oryx Bubble Camp but by far the best. From the moment you are met you are given Eid and his team’s full attention and they really want to do the best for you. Each bubble tent has a spectacular uninterrupted view of the desert and mountains. Our tent was meticulously clean and had a king bed, two twin beds, WiFi, plug sockets, hairdryer and an integrated private bathroom with hot shower. I spent a long time researching which Wadi Rum camp would be the best for us, as a family of 4 wanting to stay in one bubble tent together - as most don’t offer this - and in a place with real Bedouin hospitality and I’m pleased to say we found it. We were really happy with our experience and the hospitality and genuine generosity and kindness shown. Also it wasn’t clear from hotels.com that dinner was included but it is as were all the drinks and breakfast. Communication with Eid was extremely easy, he is very responsive on WhatsApp etc and speaks perfect English. They also offer private tours of north and south Wadi Rum, we took one with Motaz, which was brilliant and we realised how little we had seen on our previous trip at a different camp. We also had a family camel riding experience which was so memorable against the backdrop of the scenery and isolation. The tours and camel ride were fairly priced, there was no pressure and they handled all the arrangements so it could not have been more convenient.

We had a great stay, we arrived to a very warm welcome from Eid and his uncle. We were given serval tour options then taken to the camp. The bubble tent was very clean and spacious, our view was gorgeous. No time was wasted and we enjoyed a jeep tour of wadi rum, which finished with drinking tea on a sand dune whilst watching the sunset. Breakfast and dinner were Included and delicious. I could not recommend this enough!!!! The camp is quiet and private, and you can go to sleep watching the stars and wake up to a beautiful sunrise

We had the pleasure of staying at the Wild Oryx Camp in Wadi Rum recently, and the experience exceeded all our expectations. From the breathtaking landscapes of the desert to the warmth and hospitality of the host Eid, everything was exceptional. Eid and his family truly went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with genuine kindness and enthusiasm. His nephew Mutaz gave us an excellent tour of the desert, taking us from spots to spots to get the best view of the sprawling landscape. We watched the sunset at a remote location where he arranged to light up fire and made tea for us. Syed prepared an excellent dinner for us and took care of anything we needed during our stay. Eid's camp consists of only 4 bubble/tents and is located in the middle of the desert, far away from the other camps- this made the experience even more fascinating. If you are looking for an unforgettable stay in Wadi Rum, I cannot recomment this camp enough. The stunning desert scenery is reason enough to vist, but the hospitality of Eid truly sets this place apart. We left feeling like we had made a friend and can't wait to return someday!
