As the least dense populated province in Java compared to West Java and Central Java, East Java offers many attractions, from historical sites to nature recreational spots, like beaches, lakes, volcanos, and wildlife sanctuary. This province’s capital is in Surabaya – the second-largest city in Indonesia after Jakarta.
Surrounded by spectacular views of volcanos, East Java province has attracted more attention amongst hikers rather than regular tourists. One of the most appealing tourists’ attraction is Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park that seems to be packed of tourists along the year. Aside from that, there is Museum Angkut in Malang district as one of the first transportation museum in Southeast Asia. Also, some recreational spots that is great for family vacation, like Jawa Timur Park, The Bagong Adventure Museum Tubuh, or Batu Secret Zoo.
